Bago sumabak sa kani-kanilang projects: RURU at BIANCA, nag-quick getaway vacation sa Japan

NAG-QUICK getaway vacation sina Ruru Madrid at Bianca Umali sa Japan kamakailan.
Nag-spend ng quality time ang dalawa bago sila sumabak sa kanilang magkakaibang trabaho sa mga darating na buwan.
“Kape, Japan, at siya… Ganito lang kasimple ang saya,” post ni Ruru sa Instagram.
Kasama si Ruru sa series of shows in Canada para sa Sparkle World Tour. Makakasama niya sina Ai-Ai delas Alas, Kyline Alcantara, and Jessica Villarubin.
“Mag-i-stay kami doon for 22 days. Medyo matagal-tagal. Matagal din kaming hindi magkikita ni Bianca,” sey pa ng aktor.
Samantalang si Bianca ay magbabakasyon naman sa Europe.
“Actually, para sa amin, okay lang ‘yun. Kahit hindi kami magkasama, basta malinaw naman ‘yung tiwala namin sa isa’t isa,” sey ni Bianca na lalabas na as Terra sa Sang’gre.
Kailan lang ay nakitang magkasama ang dalawa sa red carpet ng 75th anniversary event ng GMA-7.

2024 pa ng ma-diagnose na may breast cancer: CESCA, tapos nang mag-chemotherapy
at tuloy lang ang laban sa sakit
TAPOS na sa kanyang chemotherapy si Cesca Litton at naghahanda na siya sa next steps in her battle with cancer.
Ayon sa TV personality, she is celebrating a small win in her cancer journey at nai-share niya ito sa social media.
“Found a lump. Act now, feel later. Diagnosis. Act now, feel later. Surgery. Act now, feel later. After 6 cycles of chemotherapy, later is now.

”It felt like I was holding my breath for the past few months, holding myself together because there was still so much to be done.
“The closer I got to my last chemo cycle, the more I unraveled, and last Friday, I could finally breathe and let go.
“It’s not over yet. I start hormonal treatments next month, more tests and meds for the next 5 years, and then hopefully be declared officially in remission.
“For now, I celebrate this win. I will celebrate every single win I can, big or small.
“I also celebrate the people who got me through. Every single circle in my life stepped up, the expected and the unexpected. Complete strangers who have reached out and shared their stories, prayers, words of encouragement. My doctors and nurses who ensured I got the best care. But above all else, how do I even begin to thank a God who carried me through this?
“Apologies in advance if I’m just a weepy mess, the floodgates are open and I’m not sure how long it’ll take for all the emotions to settle. Thank you for all the love and support. Job’s not done, but we keep going. God is good. Always.”
2024 nang ma-diagnose si Cesca with breast cancer. Noong March 2025 lang niya ito isinapubliko.
She stressed the importance of early detection ang regular check ups to monitor one’s health.

NILOOBAN pala ang bahay ng Hollywood actor na si Brad Pitt sa Los Feliz, Los Angeles.
Ayon sa LA Police Department, they responded to an alarm call and three suspects invaded the property. Dumaan ang mga ito sa front entrance ng bahay habang may mga workers na nagtatrabaho sa tapat ng property.
Wala pang report kung ano ang mga gamit na ninakaw sa loob ng bahay.
Wala si Pitt sa kanyang bahay noong pinasok ito ng mga magnanakaw.

Danny and Michael Philippou unleashes true horror in haunting new A24 film, “Bring Her Back”

A couple of years after their debut breakout horror film Talk to Me, brothers and filmmaker duo Danny and Michael Philippou return with a haunting new film Bring Her Back.
Their filmmaking process, they share, is one that puts emotion at the heart of their project. “With the movies that we make, whether it’s horror or any other genre, we really want our stories to have a strong emotional core. The stuff we want to create, we want it to work on multiple levels,” said Michael.
Daniel agrees, adding, “We don’t want to be scared of something that’s a horror movie. We want to embrace that it’s a horror film, and be proud of making a horror film.”

Bring Her Back tells the tale of a brother Andy (Billy Barratt), and his low-vision sister Piper (Sora Wong) as they enter the care of their new foster mother. Slowly they uncover a terrifying ritual in their new secluded home.
The inspiration of the story began close to home, as one character is inspired by an interaction with the directors’ friend. “Our friend’s little sister is non-sighted, and there was a situation with her family where she really wanted to go and catch the bus by herself, but her parents wouldn’t let her do it,” Danny says. “She was trying to communicate with them that she’s going to have to learn to navigate the world without everyone babying her all the time, that she needs to have her own independence.”
That theme carries into one of the main characters of the film, Piper, who experiences a tragedy with her brother Andy, but the aftermath spins them into horrors beyond imaginable. “Talk to Me feels like a party horror film, but this film is more character-driven,” Danny says. “We liked the challenge of a contained story about these three characters, focusing on their relationships.” (Photo & Video Credit: “Columbia Pictures”)

SIYAM na naglalakihang bituin sa Philippine movie industry ang bibigyang-parangal para sa Box Office Hero ng 8th EDDYS o Entertainment Editors’ Choice.
Sila ang mga bumida sa mga pelikulang nagpakitang-gilas sa takilya nitong nagdaang taon at tumaya para sa patuloy na pagbangon ng industriya ng pelikulang Pilipino na naging daan upang muling sumugod sa sinehan ang mga manonood.
Sa ikalawang taon ng The EDDYS Box Office Heroes, gagawaran ng parangal sina Kathryn Bernardo at Alden Richards para sa kanilang reunion film na ‘Hello, Love, Again.’
Gumawa ng kasaysayan ang naturang pelikula matapos itong kumita sa takilya ng P1.6 billion worldwide.

HINDI TUTOL si Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa implementasyon ng K-12 program subalit nais nito na ayusin at paghusayin ang curriculum.

“Hindi na po siya tutol talaga sa K-12. Aayusin po ngayon,” ayon kay Presidential Communications Undersecretary at Palace Press Officer Claire CastroPalace Press Officer Claire Castro sa press briefing.

“Pero kung ano po ang magiging batas, iyan din po ang susundin. Pero sa ngayon na nandiyan ang batas, ito po ay bibigyan ng halaga at palalawigin at pagagandahin po,” aniya pa rin.

Gayunman, tanggap naman ni Pangulong Marcos ang kasalatan sa kahandaan sa pagpapatupad ng education program.

“Ang sinabi lang po niya ay hindi naging epektibo agad dahil hindi niya nai-prepare ang mga ahensya para dito,” ang sinabi ni Castro.

Nauna rito, nagpahayag ng pagkadismaya si Pangulong Marcos hinggil sa K-12 program at inatasan si Education Secretary Sonny Angara para palakasin ang curriculum at tugunan ang long-standing gaps sa education infrastructure.

Winika ni Castro na gagawin lahat ng kasalukuyang administrasyon ang pagsisikap nito para palakasin ang K-12 program.

“Ayon po sa ating Pangulo, hanggat nandyan ang batas para sa K-12, ito po ay susuportahan at palalawigin at pag-iibayuhin na maayos para sa ating mga estudyante,” aniya pa rin.

Sa ulat, naghain ng panukalang batas si Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada para alisin na ang senior high school sa ilalim ng basic education ng bansa. Ayon sa senador, bigo umano ang layunin ng K to 12 program na maihanda ang mga estudyanteng magtatapos na makapasok sa trabaho.

Paliwanag ni Estrada sa Senate Bill No. 3001, pagkaraan ng 12 taon mula nang ipatupad ang SHS sa ilalim ng K to 12 program, bigo pa rin itong makamit ang pangunahing layunin na mabigyan ng pagkakataon ang mga SHS graduate na makapasok ng trabaho.

Sa panukalang batas ni Estrada, nais niyang mapanatili ang pangunahing prinsipyo sa Republic Act No. 10533, o Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013. Pero aalisin na ang SHS, “to simplify the high school system while still making sure students get quality education that meets global standards.”

Inirekomenda niya ang isang taon sa kindergarten education, anim na taon sa elementary education, at apat na taon sa secondary education.   (Daris Jose)

INGINUSO ni Manila Mayor Isko Moreno-Domagoso ang ilang mga matataas na opisyal ng dating administrasyon na dahilan ng pagkakabaon sa utang ng Maynila matapos mag-cash advance at mag-transfer ng malalaking pondo.

Kabilang rito sina Department of Public Services (DPS) OIC Jonathan Garzo na nag-cash advance ng kabuuang P132 milyon sa loob lamang ng isang araw noong May 9 o tatlong araw bago ang election 2025.

Kasama rin sa tinukoy ni Domagoso ang Assistant City Administrator na si Joy Dawis-Asuncion na nag-transfer ng pondo mula sa General fund sa Trust fund ng P683 milyon mula January 2025 hanggang March 2025 o sa loob lamang ng tatlong buwan.

Gobyerno, binitbit ang P20/kg. rice program sa pampublikong pamilihan- Malakanyang

BINITBIT ng gobyerno at nagsimula na ang pag-roll out ng P20 kada kilo bigas sa pampublikong pamilihan sa buong bansa.

Kasunod ito ng ginawang paglulunsad ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa “Benteng Bigas, Meron Na!” program sa Bacoor, Cavite.

“Alinsunod ito sa panawagan ni Pangulo na palawakin pa ang sakop ng P20 rice program ng administrasyon,” ang sinabi ni Palace Press Officer at Presidential Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro sa press briefing sa Malakanyang.

“Diin ng Pangulo, hangad ng gobyerno na magkaroon ng sapat na pagkain sa hapag-kainan ng bawat Pilipino,” aniya pa rin.

Winika pa ni Castro na ang inisyatiba ay pumapasok na sa mas malawak na rollout phase para mapakinabangan ng mas maraming low-income families.

Nauna rito, pinangunahan ni Pangulong Marcos kasama ang mga opisyal ng Department of Agriculture (DA) at National Food Authority (NFA) ang paglulunsad ng programa sa Zapote Public Market sa Bacoor, Cavite.

Tanda ito ng ‘major expansion’ ng P20 rice initiative, sa simula ay inilaan para sa pilot testing sa Visayas nito lamang buwan ng Mayo.

Sa kabilang dako, sinabi ng Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Service ng DA, na ang programa ay umabot na sa mahigit 105,000 pamilya sa Luzon at Visayas, namahagi ng mas mahigit sa 804,000 kilo ng bigas sa pagitan ng May 13 at June 30.

Ang P20 na bigas ay kasalukuyang available sa senior citizens, solo parents, persons with disabilities, indigent families, at minimum wage earners, na may 1 milyong target na benepisaryo sa pagtatapos ng taon.

Ang layunin ay maabot ang 15 milyong Pinoy sa buong bansa sa 2026 at mapanatili ang programa hanggang 2028.

Sinusuportahan din ng programa ang mga lokal na magsasaka sa pamamagitan ng muling ipuhunan ang NFA procurement budgets sa rural economies, habang tinutulungan na mapaluwag ang bodega ng mga bigas.

Sa ngayon, may 94 outlet sites ang itinatag sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng bansa. (Daris Jose)
