CHLOE ZHAO, first Asian female director na nanalong Best Director sa ‘Golden Globe Awards’; nagwagi rin ang ‘Nomadland’

NAITAWID din ng Hollywood Foreign Press Association ang 78th Golden Globe Awards sa gitna ng pandemya at maraming kontrobersya sa kanilang nilabas na nominations.

Pinalabas ng live virtually ang Golden Globes sa dalawang locations: The Rainbow Room of the Rockefeller Center in New York hosted by Tina Fey and at the Beverly Hills Hilton in Los Angeles, California hosted by Amy Poehler.

Ang mga nominees ay nasa kani-kanilang bahay dahil sa pagsunod sa COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

Ang Chinese film director, screenwriter, and producer, Chloe Zhao, ay ang first Asian female director to win Best Director for her film, Nomadland, na nanalo rin as Best Motion Picture-Drama.

Ang mockumentary film na Borat Sebsequent Moviefilm ang nanalong Best Motion Picture-Comedy or Musical at nagwaging Best Actor in a Comedy ang bida rito na si Sacha Baron Cohen.

Nasorpresa naman sa kanilang panalo sina Jodie Foster as best supporting actress for the film The Mauritanian at Andra Day as best actress in a motion picture drama for The United States Vs. Billie Holiday.

Ang pinaka-touching moment ng awards night ay ang  posthumous win ng yumaong aktor na si Chadwick Boseman bilang best actor in a motion picture drama for Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.

Ang Netflix drama series na The Crown ang nag-uwi ng maraming awards: best drama series, best actress, best actor and best supporting actress.

Binigyan naman ng special honors sina Norman Lear (Carol Burnett Award) at Jane Fonda (Cecil B. DeMille Award).

NANGUNA sina Ruru Madrid at Shaira Diaz sa isang tree-planting activity sa Antipolo kung saan sila nagte-taping sila para sa kanilang upcoming episode sa ikalawang season ng GMA drama anthology na I Can See You.

     May title na ‘On My Way To You’ ang episode nila Ruru at Shaira kunsaan makakasama nila sina Arra San Agustin at Richard Yap.

     Sa kanilang rest day sa lock-in taping ay nagtungo sina Ruru at Shaira kasama rin sina Arra, Moly de Guzman, at Ashley Rivera sa Mount Purro Nature Reserve upang magtanim ng mga puno.

Sa Instagram ay ibinahagi ni Ruru ang naganap na tree-planting activity: “Day 5 at the bubble. Today’s our rest day. So, we decided to plant trees and help save mother nature.”

NAGBUNGA rin ang ilusyon noon ni Herlene “Hipon” Budol na maging isang supermodel.

Natupad ang matagal nang dream ni Hipon nang kunin siya ng designer na si Leo Almodal para sa isang photo session at isuot ang kanyang latest creations.

Makikita nga sa Instagram ni Hipon ang series of photos niya na suot ang isang sexy red gown na backless at mataas ang slit para makita ang long legs ni Hipon.

Sa isa naman ay black gown ang suot niya na lace ang tumatakip sa kanyang dibdib.

May close up shot pa si Hipon at di mo siya nakikilala dahil sa ganda ng makeup niya. Nagmukha siyang professional supermodel!
