DTI naglabas ng mga kautusan para sa mga energy consuming products

NAGLABAS ang Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) ng isan department order na nagbibigay ng bagong technical regulation na nagrereseta sa mga mandatory product certification ng mga energy consuming products (ECPs) sa pamamagitan ng Bureau of Philippine Standards (BPS).
Sa isang statement ay sinabi ni DTI Consumer Protection Group (CPG) Undersecretary Ruth Castelo na layunin ng department administrative order 22-01, series of 2022 na tiyaking ligtas, dekalidad, at sumusunod sa mga itinakdang requirements ng Bureau of Philippine Standards (BPS) at Department of Energy (DoE) ang lahat ng energy consuming products na ginagamit ng mga kababayan nating consumers.
Sinuportahan aniya nito ang implimentasyon ng Republic Act No. 11285 o ang Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act na nagmamandato naman sa mga manufacturer , importer, at dealer na mag-comply sa minimum energy perform ance (MEP) standards.
Layunin din nito na ipakita ang energy label at efficiency label ng mga produkto sa packaging nito para magsilbing reference ng mga mamimili.
Kabilang sa mga produktong saklaw ng nasabing kautusan ay ang mga room air-conditioners (RACs), refrigerators, television sets. fluorescent lamps, at marami pang iba.
