IBA-IBANG PASILIDAD PINASINAYAAN SA NAVOTAS

PINASINAYAAN ng Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Navotas ang iba’t-ibang pasilidad kasabay ng selebrasyon ng ika-14^th cityhood anniversary nito.

Pinangunahan ni Cong. John Rey Tiangco, Regional Director of the World Scout Bureau Asia Pacific Region Jose Rizal Pangilinan, Director of Bureau of Plant Industry George Culaste, at Good Greens President Simon Villalon, ang blessing at inauguration ng walong karagdagang towers sa Urban Vertical Farm sa NavotaAs Homes 2–Tanza na may 12 greenhouse towers at pinakamataas sa Metro Manila.

Ang unang apat na towers ay pinondohan ng Boy Scouts of the Philippines–Navotas City Council and Good Greens, habang ang walong karagdagan ay buong pinondohan ng Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Plant Industry.

“Despite our lack of space, we strived to put up a farm here in Navotas to help promote food security among Navoteños. Now that we are in a pandemic, it is more crucial that we have a sufficient and sustainable source of food,” ani Cong. Tiangco.

Ang Good Greens na namamahala sa proyekto, ay nagsabi na ang 12 tower ay maaaring gumawa ng parehong ani tulad ng isang 3-hectare traditional farm.

Pinangunahan din ni Cong. Tiangco, Vice Mayor Clint Geronimo at iba pang mga opisyal ng lungsod ang pagpapasinaya sa Tangos Elementary School Multi-Purpose Building at ERC Covered Court, kapwa sa Brgy. Tangos North, health center sa Brgy. NBBS Proper; at ang Navotas Rescue Center sa Brgy. NBBS Dagat-dagatan.

Naging isang lungsod ang Navotas noong 2007 sa pamamagitan ng pagsisikap at pamamahala ng dati at kasalukuyang alkalde na si Toby Tiangco.

“We have overcome so many challenges over the years. Whatever we have achieved, it is because of the support and contribution of every Navoteño,” sabi ng alkalde. (Richard Mesa)
