MARVEL Studios has released the first official teaser trailer for Eternals, the upcoming MCU movie directed by Academy Award winner Chloé Zhao.
The studio debuted a brand new trailer for Eternals on Monday, having previously offered fans a glimpse of the action in the MCU Phase 4 featurette released at the beginning of May.
“We have watched and guided. We have helped them progress and seen them accomplish wonders,” a voice of Ajak (Salma Hayek) in the trailer narrates.
“Throughout the years we have never interfered. Until now.”

The trailer kicks off on a beach setting as a massive alien ship emerges from the sky. Aboard the ship, we see Ikaris and Sersi admiring the beauty before them.
The trailer showcases Eternals’ star-studded cast, made up of Richard Madden as the all-powerful Ikaris; Gemma Chan as humankind-loving Sersi; Kumail Nanjiani as cosmic-powered Kingo; Lauren Ridloff as the super-fast Makkari; Brian Tyree Henry as the intelligent inventor Phastos; Salma Hayek as the wise and spiritual leader Ajak; Lia McHugh as the eternally young, old-soul Sprite; Don Lee as the powerful Gilgamesh; Barry Keoghan as aloof loner Druig; and Angelina Jolie as the fierce warrior Thena.
Aside from the teaser trailer, Marvel also released a brand new poster for the Phase 4 movie, providing an additional look at the superhero team and also teasing the MCU debut of the Black Knight, aka Dane Whitman, played by Kit Harington, whose name appears on the cast list.
The poster depicts the immortal heroes silhouetted against a sunlit backdrop directly beneath a starry night sky, offering another taste of Chloé Zhao’s signature filming style and the use of natural light to illuminate a frame.
Announced in 2018, Eternals is based on Jack Kirby’s race of immortal Marvel heroes who’ll come together to fight the Deviants. The film was previously scheduled to release on November 2020 but was pushed back due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Eternals is from a screenplay by Matthew and Ryan Firpo and arrives in theaters November 5.
