Navotas humakot ng multiple awards sa exemplary governance

ISA ang Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Navotas sa mga lokal na pamahalaan na nanguna sa 2024 Urban Governance Exemplar Awards ng Department of the Interior and Local Government–National Capital Region (DILG-NCR).
Ito’y matapos makatanggap ang Navotas ng Highly Functional rating para sa Local Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Children and Anti-Drug Abuse Council; High Performing rating for its Peace and Order Council, at Ideal mark para sa Local Council for the Protection of Children nito.
Kinilala din ang lungsod bilang Child-Friendly Local Government; top performer in the Informal Settler Families Cluster for the Manila Bay Clean-Up Rehabilitation and Preservation Program (MBCRPP); at Highly Compliant LGU sa MBCRPP.
Bukod diro, nakuha ng Navotas ang pangalawang puwesto sa Fisheries Compliance Audit (FishCA) at ginawaran ng SubayBAYANI Award para sa excellence, innovation, at good governance practices sa pamamahala ng lokal imprastraktura.
“These awards serve as a testament to our dedication to uphold the safety, inclusivity, and sustainability of our city,” pahayag ni Mayor John Rey Tiangco.
“Each recognition is a victory for our citizens, inspiring us to strive even harder to make Navotas a hub of opportunity, security, and progress,” dagdag niya.
Kasama ni Mayor Tiangco si City Planning and Development Officer Engr. Rufino M. Serrano at Navotas DILG OIC Director Jenifer G. Galorport na tinanggap ang mga award at dumalo din sina Dr. Vonne Villanueva, Special Assistant to the Navotas Anti-Drug Abuse Council chairperson and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer; City Environment and Natural Resources Office head Yzabela Bernardina Nazal-Habunal, at Assistant City Engineer Dyan Lyka Pavia.
Ipinagdiriwang ng Urban Governance Exemplar Awards ang pambihirang kontribusyon at tagumpay ng mga LGU sa Metro Manila, kasama ang mga nanalo na napili ng DILG batay sa isang comprehensive regional assessment at validation ng iba’t ibang mga programa at proyekto ng mga LGU.
