Pangako nina PBBM, Vietnamese PM, palalawakin ang ugnayan sa agrikultura

KAPWA sinang-ayunan nina Pangulong  Ferdinand  Marcos Jr. at Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh na palawakin ang kanilang kooperasyon pagdating sa usapin ng agrikultura.

Sa idinaos na bilateral meeting sa Indonesia, kapuwa rin nangako ang dalawang bansa na palakasin ang  kanilang partnership pagdating sa usapin ng kalakalan at pamumuhunan, turismo at maging sa tanggulan at seguridad.

Binigyang diin naman ni Pangulong Marcos ang yumayabong na kalakalan sa pagitan ng dalawang bansa partikular na sa agricultural products.

Sinabi ng Pangulo,  napakahalaga nito sa  food supply ng bansa.

“I think that the market is ripe for continued development in the areas of course as I mention, in agriculture, transfer of technologies for climate change, the different areas that we have been looking at also at specific products that Vietnam has been successful at,”  ayon kay Pangulong Marcos.

Hindi rin lingid sa kaalaman ng Punong Ehekutibo na  nag-improved o naging maayos  na ugnayan sa pagitan ng dalawang bansa sa tulong ng pribadong sektor.

Aniya, panahon na para sa dalawang pamahalaan na makahabol sa  pribadong sektor  at “strengthen our relationship to be beyond just in trading in rice.”

Winika pa ng Pangulo na nakikita niya ang  Vietnam bilang mahalagang katuwang pagdating sa rehabilitasyon ng Philippine tourism sector  kasunod ng lockdown na ipinatupad dahil sa  COVID-19 pandemic.

“So I think that this is an important area to… for us to develop stronger relations. Because that is the way that we will derive strength from each other, from ASEAN, from our member states, from also our agreements that we make between the two countries,” anito.

“I think is something that we, the Philippines, are ready to initiate and we will after this start to make contact especially between our foreign service and eventually maybe even with our military leaders,” dagdag na pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.

Para naman kay Pham, nangako ito na makikipagtulungan sa Pilipinas hinggil sa trade promotion, naglalayong ipagpatuloy na  i-diversify ang supply chains at kalakalan sa pagitan ng dalawang bansa.

“When it comes to products… we can afford to provide a long term strategic supply to the Philippines, to continue to try to do so by tasking with the ministries and agencies to work on said matters because we do have great empathy with sympathy for the Philippines, in the natural disaster that they often have to come across,” ayon kay Pham.

“And if you can ensure a long term strategic cooperation in the provision of such goods both and ensure stability both in terms of the goods themselves and have their price, that would help us to be better resilient to external shocks in the years to come,” lahad nito.

Samantala, humingi naman ng suporta ang Vietnamese leader  sa Pilipinas para sa kandidatura ng Vietnam para sa iba’t ibang United Nations-led organizations, kabilang na ang UN Human Rights Council,  UN Security Council, ang  Presidency ng 91st session ng United Nations General Assembly, at maging ang UN Commission on International Trade.  (Daris Jose)
