PBA ayaw nang mag-full bubble

Wala pa sa plano ng Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) ang bumalik sa full bubble para sa pagdaraos ng Season 46 Philippine Cup na target simulan sa Abril 18 sa Ynares Sports Center sa Antipolo City.

 

 

Ayon kay PBA commissioner Willie Marcial, numero unong prayoridad pa rin ang semi-bubble o ang home-gym-home format na ‘di hamak na mas mura kumpara sa full bubble.

 

 

Pinakahuling opsyon ng liga ang full bubble kung wala na talagang pag-asang maidaos ang liga sa semi-bubble setup.

 

 

Nakatakdang magsagawa ng board meeting ang liga matapos ang Holy Week.

 

 

“We’re not leaning on that. Holding a full bubble is our last option. We’ll see what happens after Holy Week,” ani Marcial.

 

 

Matatandaang gumastos ang liga ng P65 milyon para matagumpay na matapos ang Season 45 Philippine Cup noong nakaraang taon sa isang full bubble setup sa Clark, Pampanga.

 

 

Umaasa sana ang pamunuan ng PBA na maisagawa ang Philippine Cup sa isang semi-bubble format upang makaiwas sa malaking gastusin.

 

 

Subalit muling naghigpit ang Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) sa patakaran nito matapos muling lumobo ang bilang ng tinatamaan ng coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

 

 

Target sanang ganapin ang Philippine Cup sa Ynares sa Antipolo na noon ay nasa mas maluwag na Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) na.

 

 

Dahil sa pagtaas ng COVID-19 cases, ibinalik sa GCQ ang Antipolo kasama ang Bulacan, Laguna, Cavite at National Capital Region na ngayon ay tinawag na “NCR plus bubble.”

 

 

Maliban sa pinansiyal na usapin, malaking pasakit din ang full bubble para sa mga players, coaches at officials sa usaping mental dahil ilang buwan na nakakulong sa bubble ang mga ito.
