Philhealth, kailangang ayusin ang serbisyo sa mga miyembro-PBBM

KAILANGANG ayusin ng Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) ang serbisyo sa mga miyembro nito sa oras na maipatupad na ang premium hike.

Iyon ay sa kabila ng hanggang ngayon ay pinag-aaralan pa rin ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang adjustment sa premium rates ng PhilHealth.

Aniya, nais niyang makita na tumaas at madagdagan din ang benepisyo na inaalok sa mga miyembro.

“It’s all cost-benefit. If we increase, halimbawa ‘yung pinag-uusapan ngayon, ‘yung increase of contribution ng PhilHealth from 4 percent to 5 percent, tinitignan ko ,” ayon sa Pangulo sa isang panayam

“Sasabihin ko, sige, if you’re going to increase it, show the other side of that. What will be the increase in services, what will you be able to cover, what more will you be able to cover,” dagdag na wika nito.

Nauna rito, hiniling ni Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa kay Pangulong Marcos na ipagpaliban ang implementasyon ng 5-percent premium rate increase ng PhilHealth.

Nakasaad sa Republic Act 11223 o Universal Healthcare Law na “mandates the increase in the PhilHealth contribution rate to increments of 0.5 percent every year starting in 2021 until it reaches 5 percent from 2024 to 2025.”

Matatandaang, sinuspinde ni Pangulong Marcos ang pagtataas ng premium rate ng PhilHealth at income ceiling para sa calendar year 2023.

At nang tanungin kung may desisyon na ito sa rekumendasyon ni Herbosa ang tugon ng Pangulo ay “It’s very hard to quantify health, how much is its worth to you. It’s worth different things to different people.” (Daris Jose)
