PINANGUNAHAN ng sikat na si Alyja Daphne ‘Jaja’ Santiago ang 16 na mga dumalo buhat sa 40 inanyayahan ng Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) sa women’s indoor team tryout nitong Miyerkoles sa Subic Gymnasium sa Zambales.
Karay ng Japan V. League gold medalist sa pagtitipon sina incoming Premier Volleyball League (PVL) stars Abigail ‘Aby’ Maraño, Mary ‘Majoy’ Baron, Mylene Paat, Dell Palomata, Iris Tolenada, at Ria Meneses.
Nagsadya rin sina Ejiya ‘Eya’ Laure, Faith Janine Shirley Nisperos, Jennifer Nierva, Ivy Lacsina, Mhicaela Belen, Alyssa Solomon, Bernadette Pepito, Kamille Cal, at Imee Hernandez.
“The federation puts the health and safety of the participants in equal footing with our goal of forming the national teams as soon as possible,” bigkas ni PNVF president Ramon Suzara.
Hinirit pa niyang ang mabubuong koponan ang magiging pambato ng bansa para sa 31st Southeast Asian Games 2021 sa Hanoi, Vietnam sa Nobyembre 21-Disyembre 2, at sa 21st Asian Women’s Volleyball Championship sa itatakda pang petsa sa Agosto sa Pilipinas o sa China.
Pinangasiwaan ni national coach Arthur Mamon ang kaganapan na hindi napuntahan ni Mar-Jana ‘MJ’ Phillips na nasa quarantine sa pagkapositibo ng isang Sta. Lucia Realty staffer.
