MPTC mamumuhunan ng P2B upang pagdugtungin ang CAVITEX, CALAX

Maglalaan ang Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC) ng P2 billion upang pagdugtungin ang Cavite Toll Expressway (CAVITEX) at Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX).
Ito ang pahayag ni Roberto Bontia, president at general manager ng MPTC-unit ng Cavitex Infrastructure Corp. (CIC), sa isang virtual briefing na ginanap. Sinabi rin ni Bontia na ang construction ng isang (1) kilometrong connector ay maaaring simulan sa ngayon huling taon o di kaya ay maaga sa susunod ng taon.
Itatayo ang nasabing connector dahil sa inaasahang pagtatapos ng construction ng 45-km na CALAX sa taong 2023.
“What is definite in terms of extension of CAVITEX is our connection to CALAX. We call that the Segment 4 extension, which will connect Kawit to the last interchange of CALAX. That will be roughly one kilometer of elevated toll road that will connect CAVITEX and CALAX. That’s one definite project we are going to undertake, hopefully late this year or early next year,” wika ni Bontia.
Samantala, ang CIC kasama sa isang joint venture ang Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) ay patuloy ang ginagawang completion ng CAVITEX C5 Link project.
Ang CAVITEX C5 Link ay ang 7.7- kilometer na 2×3 expressway na magdudugtong sa CAVITEX R1 papuntang C5 Road sa Taguig. Ang nakalaang pondo dito ay P15 billion para sa Segments 2 at 3.
“Since 2019, C5 Link segment 3A-1 connecting Merville to C5 Road has been operational, while constructions of Segment 3A-2 stretching from E. Rodriguez to Merville, and Segment 2 from CAVITEX R1 Interchange to Sucat Interchange are underway,” saad ni Bontia.
Ang construction progress ng Segment 3A-2 ay 30 percent at inaasahang matatapos sa unang quarter ng darating na taon. Habang ang Segment 2 naman ay may 17 percent na construction progress at matatapos sa fourth quarter ng 2022.
Samantala ang construction ng Segment 3B mula Sucat hanggang E. Rodriguez ay inaasahang matatapos sa unang quarter ng susunod na taon.
Kapag natapos na ang CAVITEX C5 Link, ito ay makakabawas ng travel time mula CAVITEX papuntang Taguig at Makati ng hanggang 30 at 45 minutes. Ang nasabing link ay inaasahang din na mabibigyan ng benepisyo ang may 50,000 na motorista lalo na yoon mangangaling mula sa Taguig, Makati, Las Pinas at Pasay. LASACMAR
