Gobyerno, target na bakunahan ang 90% ng mga guro at estudyante bago matapos ang Nobyembre

PUNTIRYA ng pamahalaan na tapusin ang pagbabakuna, kahit man lang 90% ng mga guro, estudyante at iba pang education personnel laban sa coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) bago matapos ang Nobyembre.
Sinabi ni Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., hepe ng National Task Force (NTF) against Covid-19, bahagi ito ng paghahanda ng gobyerno para tiyakin na ligtas ang isasagawang gradual reopening ng face-to-face classes sa gitna ng Covid-19 pandemic.
“On the opening of the school, we will vaccinate teachers and students and personnel to at least 90 percent before the end of November,” ayon kay Galvez sa Talk to the People ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Lunes ng gabi.
Tinukoy ang data mula kay Commission of Higher Education (CHED) chairperson Prospero de Vera, iniulat ni Galvez na 57% pa lamang ng mga guro at estudyante ang bakunado laban sa Covid-19, dahilan para itulak ng pamahalaan ang pagpapataas at pagpapaigting ng vaccination drive para sa sektor ng edukasyon.
Sa inaasahang pinalawig na face-to-face classes, nauna nang hinikayat ni de Vera ang mga college students na magpabakuna laban sa Covid-19.
“The good news is in some schools, the vaccination level is very high, as high as 90 plus percent. And 53 percent of our HEIs (Higher Education Institutions) have reported a vaccination level of more than 75 percent among their personnel,” ayon kay de Vera.
Samantala, inilarawan naman nj Galvez ang pagbabakuna sa mga menor de edad na 12 hanggang 17 bilang “instrumental tool” para sa pagbubukas ng face-to-face classes at “ancillary businesses” na may kaugnayan sa education sector.
“Allowing them to have leeway to move around and play will not just help in protecting the mental well-being of minors, but also revive economic activities especially this Christmas season,” aniya pa rin.
Ayon sa 2021 Philippine Projected Population data of the Philippine Statistics Authority, mayroong 12,722,070 young population na may edad na 12 hangang 17 sa bansa.
Ang rollout ng pediatric vaccination sa buong bansa ay sumipa noong Oktubre 29. (Daris Jose)
