‘The Batman’ New Poster Shows Catwoman’s Super Sharp Claws

A new The Batman poster shows Catwoman’s super sharp claws as she and Robert Pattinson’s titular Dark Knight overlook Gotham City.

Pattinson becomes the latest star to don the cape and cowl for the big screen, taking over the role from Ben Affleck following his stepping down from the DC Extended Universe and co-writing/directing/producing the solo film due to personal health issues. Affleck will, however, return as the Dark Knight one final time for The Flash alongside Michael Keaton in his return from the Tim Burton films.

The Batman will act as a reboot for the film franchise and center on Bruce Wayne in his second year of fighting crime in Gotham City and uncovering a deep web of corruption with potential ties to his family.

In an effort to get to the heart of the corruption and put a stop to the cryptic serial killer known as The Riddler, Batman must make new allies, including Catwoman, in an effort to bring them all to justice. Alongside Pattinson, the ensemble roster for The Batman includes Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Gotham Police Lieutenant Jim Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot, also known as The Penguin.

Twitter has unveiled a new The Batman poster. The latest key art for the film sees Pattinson’s titular character watching over a sunset-drenched Gotham with Kravitz’s Catwoman, who is revealed to have super sharp claws.

Much of the marketing for The Batman has highlighted the unique relationship between the Dark Knight and Catwoman in the upcoming film, itself being one of the most iconic dynamics in either’s comic book history.

It is interesting that the new poster shows off Catwoman’s super sharp claws, namely in their seemingly natural appearance on the character. Most screen iterations of the cat burglar have depicted her sharp claws as extensions of the gloves for her iconic black costume, though the new poster seems to indicate they may either be additions to her natural nails or the natural nails themselves grown out to be their own weapons, which Kravitz stated was the case in a previous interview for the film.

Catwoman’s claws aren’t the only original design element fans can look forward to seeing from the character in The Batman. Previous trailers and merchandise for the film have confirmed that Catwoman will get to use her iconic whip at some point in the story and use it against foes.

The wait for Kravitz’s Catwoman to debut is nearly over as The Batman is set to hit theaters on March 4. (source: screenrant.com)
