Wala pang kapalit para sa 3 retiradong Comelec execs

WALA pang advice at impormasyon ukol sa pagtatalaga ng bagong Commission on Elections (Comelec) chair at dalawang commissioners.

Nakatakda na kasing magretiro sa serbisyo sina Comelec Chair Sheriff Abas at Commissioners Rowena Guanzon, at Antonio Kho Jr. sa susunod na buwan o tatlong buwan bago ang May 9 national at local polls.

“Wala pa pong advice from the Palace , but obviously the President understands the importance of appointing the new Comelec commissioners immediately after the end of term, itong mga  present Comelec commissioners at iyong  chair, especially with the upcoming elections,” ayon acting presidential spokesperson at Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles.

Binigyang diin ni Nograles na batid ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte ang kahalagahan ng pagtatalaga ng successors ng mga outgoing Comelec officials.

“But so far, no word from the President yet as kung sino, so let’s just wait until the further announcement,”dagdag na pahayag ni Nograles.

Sa ulat, si Abas ay itinalaga bilang commissioner ng namayapang Pangulo Benigno Aquino III noong 2015 at bilang chair ni Pangulong Duterte noong 2017, kapalit ng na-impeached na si Andres Bautista.

Sina Guanzon,  na namuno sa First Division, at Bautista ay kapwa itinalaga ni Aquino.

Samantala, sa tweet ni Guanzon, si Commissioner Socorro Inting, itinuturing na most senior sa hanay ng natitirang poll body officials, ang tatayong acting chair habang nakabinbin ang appointment ng papalit kay Abas.
