Malakanyang, pinuri ang mga COVID heroes

PATULOY na kinikilala ng Malakanyang  ang “selflessness and hard work” ng COVID-19 frontliners kasabay ng pagdiriwang 3rd  Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor) sa panahon ng pandemya.

Tinawagan ng Malakanyang ang publiko na tingnan ang present-day heroes habang patuloy na nakikipaglaban sa COVID-19.

“As we adapt to the new normal brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, we continue to praise the selflessness, hard work, and commitment of our present-day heroes. Our medical and health care professionals, farmers, government workers and officials, law enforcement personnel, firefighters, and frontliners from the food service, transportation, and other essential sectors, have all continuously provided needed services and assistance to their fellow Filipinos despite the great personal risk to them because of the virus,” anito.

Umaasa ang Malakanyang na ang mga beterano  at modern-day heroes ay makapagbibigay inspirasyon sa lahat.

“May the sacrifices of our patriotic veterans and our modern-day heroes continue to ignite within us the desire to contribute towards nation-building for our continuous recovery from the impacts generated by the COVID-19 pandemic,” dagdag na pahayag nito..

Ang  Day of Valor ay paggunita sa mga  Filipino at American soldiers na tumayo laban sa  Japanese forces noong panahon ng World War 2.

Samantala, nakiisa naman si Pangulong Duterte sa Bataan ceremony noong 2017, mahigit isang taon ng kanyang pagka-pangulo.

Ang pagdiriwang Araw ng Kagitingan ay kinansela noong 2020 dahil sa pandemya dahilan upang ipakita na lamang ang taped video message ng nasabing event noong 2021.(Daris Jose)
