‘Avatar 2’ New Image Reveals Jake Sully and Neytiri’s Four Na’vi Children

A new image from Avatar: The Way of Water reveals the best look yet at Jake Sully and Neytiri’s four Na’vi children in the long-awaited sequel.

Released in 2009, James Cameron’s Avatar, which still stands as the highest-grossing film of all time, introduced audiences to Sam Worthington’s Jake Sully, a paraplegic Marine who joins the Avatar program and quickly befriends Pandora’s native people, the Na’vi, and falls in love with Zoe Saldana’s Neytiri. At the end of the first film, Sully chooses to permanently transfer his body into his Na’vi avatar with help of the Tree of Souls.

Worthington and Saldana return to lead the cast of Avatar: The Way of Water as Sully and Neytiri, who have started their own Na’vi family in the decade since the events of the first film.

Sigourney Weaver returns in a surprising new role while Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, and Matt Gerald also reprise their roles from Avatar. Additions to the cast include Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Edie Falco, Michelle Yeoh, Jemaine Clement, and Vin Diesel.

The first Avatar 2 trailer, released in May, revealed the first look at Sully and Neytiri’s family, and now, another glimpse of their Na’vi children is here.

A new Avatar: The Way of Water image was unveiled via Empire, introducing audiences to the new generation of Na’vi. The image reveals the best look yet at Sully and Neytiri’s family, which includes both biological and adopted children.

Their biological kids include Neteyam (Jamie Flatters), Lo’ak (Britain Dalton), and Tuktirey (Trinity Bliss). Lastly, there is also their adopted teenage daughter, Kiri, who was recently revealed to be portrayed by Sigourney Weaver.

Thirteen years have passed since Avatar was released in theaters and took audiences by storm with its stunning visuals. However, it has taken over a decade for the first sequel to arrive, so it only makes sense for this significant passage of time to be reflected in the world of Pandora as well.

When The Way of Water begins, Sully and Neytiri will already have four children of various ages, with their son Neteyam being the oldest and their eight-year-old daughter Tuk being the youngest. Other than these four, there is also Spider (played by Jack Champion), a human orphan stranded on Pandora who is rescued and adopted by Jake and Neytiri.

This image is a proper introduction to Sully and Neytiri’s family who audiences will surely get to know a lot better in the coming months and once The Way of Water premieres in theaters.

Family is clearly going to be a prominent theme in The Way of Water and possibly even more Avatar sequels to come as the close-knit Sully tribe does whatever it takes to keep each other safe, upping the emotional stakes as Pandora defends itself from new and familiar threats.
