NEW ‘JOKER 2’ ARTWORK IMAGINES LADY GAGA’S LOOK AS HARLEY QUINN

NEW artwork for Joker 2 imagines what Lady Gaga could look like as Harley Quinn with the classic costume and make-up as she’s set to play her.

While the DCEU has been Warner Bros.’s main focus when it comes to their DC IPs, they have also begun to create independent, standalone franchises based on the iconic heroes and villains. One of them is Joker, which is loosely based on the DC Black Label/Elseworlds imprint. Starring Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck, Joker is a darker and more psychological take on Gotham City’s Clown Prince of Crime, telling the complex origin story of how he becomes the titular character.
Directed by Todd Phillips, Joker, which had a $55–70 million budget, became a massive critical and box office success.

Collecting $1.074 billion at the worldwide box office, Joker also garnered multiple Oscar nominations in 2020. Phoenix became the second Joker performer to win an Academy Award, following the late Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight.

Almost three years after the first installment hit theaters, Warner Bros. Discovery is working on a sequel with Phoenix set to reprise the role in Joker: Folie à Deux, which is being imagined as a musical movie. While plot details are being kept under wrap, Lady Gaga is boarding the project as none other than Harley Quinn herself.
With Gaga taking on the iconic DC character, many are already wondering how Joker: Folie à Deux will tackle her costume and make-up compared to Margot Robbie’s iteration in the DCEU.

While the sequel won’t start filming until December, popular artist Bosslogic recently did a rendition of Gaga in a Joker-inspired Harley Quinn look, with her own costume and make-up.

While Joker: Folie à Deux plot details are being kept under wraps, the supposed Joker-musical will be heavily set at Arkham Asylum, which is where the first film ended with Arthur inside Arkham State Hospital, which will eventually become the Asylum.

The only cast member that is in talks to return from Joker is Zazie Beetz’s Arthur’s neighbor Sophie Dumond. Whether Gaga’s Harley and Beetz’s Sophie will have any storylines together remains to be seen, given their ties to Arthur.

It wouldn’t be shocking if Gaga’s Harley, like Phoenix’s Joker, takes a similar path in terms of costume design by not falling into chemicals and instead painting her face to look like her comic counterpart.

Bosslogic’s rendition of what Gaga could look like as Harley does very much line-up with the aesthics of the Joker universe in general. That’s why it wouldn’t be shocking if this is what she will basically look like in Joker: Folie à Deux.
It will still be intriguing to see how Phillips tackles someone like Harley, another classic Batman character who doesn’t show up until after Bruce Wayne becomes the Dark Knight. If Joker: Folie à Deux, which releases in October 2024, is a musical as reported, it will definitely be the most different DC Comics movie in a very long time. (source: screenrant.com)
