PAHAYAG NI CONG. TOBY TIANGCO SA DICT HACKING INCIDENT

NAGLABAS ng pahayag si Navotas Congressman Toby Tiangco na bilang Chair ng ICT Committee ng House of Representatives, ay lubos niyang ikinabahala ang tungkol sa insidente ng hacking kamakailan kung saan tinatarget ang Disaster Risk Reduction Management Division ng Department of Information and Communications Technology.

Ayon sa kanya, ang paglabag na ito ay hindi lamang nakompromiso sa sensitibong data ngunit naglalagay din ng panganib sa mga kritikal na serbisyo na umaasa sa ating mga mamamayan sa panahon ng krisis.

“This incident serves as a stark reminder of the vulnerabilities that exist in our digital infrastructure. We must take immediate steps to enhance our defenses and ensure that robust cybersecurity protocols are in place to safeguard our systems from future breaches.” pahayag ni Tiangco.

“Furthermore, the implementation of the SIM Card Registration Act, with the aim of protecting Filipinos from text scams and other forms of telecom fraud, has been lacking. Scammers continue to exploit and victimize many Filipinos through text scams. We need strict and effective enforcement to curb these criminal activities and uphold the interests of our citizens.” dagdag niya.

Nananawagan si Cong. Tiangco sa Department of Information and Communications Technology na pabilisin ang imbestigasyon sa insidente ng pag-hack na ito at magpatupad ng komprehensibong mga reporma sa cybersecurity nang walang pagkaantala.

Kinakailangan aniya na magtulungan upang pagtibayin ang mga depensa at i-secure ang ating digital na imprastraktura para sa kapakinabangan ng lahat ng Pilipino.
