MATUTULOY ngayong 2021 ang Miss Universe pageant.
Ito ay ayon sa Miss Universe Organization vice-president Shawn McClain na naglabas ng maraming pagbabago sa pageant dahil sa COVID-19 pandemic.
“There’s is a chance we change a bit, change some things about Miss Universe.I can’t say many details now, but changes (in) some parts of the show, some aspects of the competition to make it more a little 2021 as (like) an evolution of Miss Universe.
“We have a ton of people, a huge team thinking, creating the new format, new way of doing things and we are working on that. Now the pandemic brought many negative things, but also many positives.”
Sa bansang Costa Rica raw magaganap ang naudlot na Miss Universe 2020. Tutularan daw nila ang ginawang pag-iingat ng Miss USA 2020 na ginanap noong November 9, 2020 sa Exhibition Centre and the Soundstage at Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee. Nagwagi rito ay si Miss Mississippi Asya Branch.
“We had Miss USA and we learned how to hold an event with strict protocols, how to keep the contestants (in a) safe place, place each group in their own spot, not mix the groups and have everyone wear masks. This is what we are thinking of doing at the end of this year in Costa Rica.”
May report na magaganap ang 69th edition ng Miss Universe pageant on May 9, 2021, Mother’s Day. Pero wala pang confirmation ang MUO tungkol dito.
Si Rabiya Mateo ang nanalo bilang Miss Universe Philippines 2020 at kailangan na nitong maghanda kung sa May na ang Miss Universe.
Ang current Miss Universe ay si Zozibini Tonzi of South Africa.
