Sen. BONG, KIM at ANGEL, kasama sa unang makatatangap ng Isah V. Red Award sa ‘4th EDDYS’

TULOY na tuloy na sa Marso 22 ang pagbibigay ng parangal ng Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd) sa mga de-kalidad at natatanging pelikula ng 2020.
Virtual gaganapin ang 4th EDDYS (Entertainment Editors’ Choice) kung saan maglalaban-laban ang mga de-kalibreng pelikulang Filipino na ipinalabas sa iba’t ibang platforms sa kabila ng Covid-19 pandemic.
Labing-apat na kategorya ang paglalabanan, kabilang na ang Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress at Best Actor.
Bukod dito, ilulunsad din sa 4th EDDYS ang Isah V. Red Award bilang pagkilala at pag-alala sa yumaong founding president ng SPEEd na si Isah V. Red.
“This recognition is given to individuals like him — a dynamic and spirited renaissance man with a deep love for God, country and community — who beyond the realm of entertainment has so enriched and made a difference in the lives of many, in his most colorful, gregarious and inimitable way,” ayon sa SPEEd president na si Ian Fariñas. Unang tatanggap ng IVR award sina Senator Bong Revilla Jr., Angel Locsin, Kim Chiu, Ramon Ang, Rei Anicoche-Tan at Claire de Leon-Papa para sa kahanga-hanga at walang katulad na pagbabahagi ng tulong sa mga Filipinong naapektuhan ng global health crisis.
Kaabang-abang din sa ikaapat na edisyon ng EDDYS ang pagbibigay-parangal sa sampung karapat-dapat at nirerespetong alagad ng sining.
Ang EDDYS Icon awardees ngayong 2021 ay sina Gloria Sevilla, Ronaldo Valdez, Pilar Pilapil, Boots Anson-Rodrigo, Gina Pareño, Dante Rivero, Tommy Abuel, Caridad Sanchez, Joel Lamangan at Ricky Lee.
Samantala, ang tatanggap naman ng EDDYS special awards na Joe Quirino Award ay ang TV-radio host-columnist na si Lolit Solis; Manny Pichel Award, entertainment columnist Mario Bautista; Rising Producers’ Circle, Blacksheep Productions; at Producer of the Year, The IdeaFirst Company. Bibigyan ng posthumous recognition sina Peque Gallaga, Tony Mabesa, Menggie Cobarrubias, Ramon Revilla Sr. at Tony Ferrer.
Ang pagbibigay-parangal ng SPEEd ay isang paraan para hikayatin, lalong pataasin ang morale at patuloy na magbigay-inspirasyon sa Filipino filmmakers, producers, writers, actors at iba pang kasama sa pagbuo ng isang matino at de-kalidad na pelikula.
Ang SPEEd ay samahan ng mga entertainment editor ng major broadsheets at tabloids sa bansa. (ROHN ROMULO)
