American na sex offender, inaresto sa Dumaguete

INARESTO ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ang isang wanted na American national sa kanilang bansa dahil sa ilang bilang ng sexual offenses.

Ayon kay BI Commissioner Jaime Morente, si Christopher John Erickson, 49 ay inaresto sa Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental ng mga operatiba ng bureau’s fugitive search unit (FSU).

Dagdag ni FSU Head Bobby Raquepo na si Erickson ay inaresto sa bisa ng mission order na inisyu ni Morente kasunod ng kahilingan ng US authorities na hanapin at arestuhin siya.

Ang operasyon ay isinagawa sa pakikipagkoordinasyon ng United States Diplomatic Security Service – Overseas Criminal Investigations (DSS-OCI) at Philippine National Police (PNP)-Dumaguete.

“An arrest warrant was issued against Erickson last October by the Onondaga County Superior Criminal Court in Syracuse, New York,” ayon kay Raquepo.

Si Erickson ay wanted sa “Course of Sexual Conduct against a Child in the second degree, Sexual Abuse in the first degree, and Forcible Touching and Endangering the Welfare of a Child”.

“He (Erickson) is an overstaying alien who poses risk to public security and safety,” Morente then said. “We will deport him and put him on the BI’s blacklist, permanently banning him from re-entering the country,” dagdag pa ni Raquepo.

Si Erickson ay dumaing sa bansa noong June 8 g nakaraang taon at hindi ito umalis ni minsan. (Gene Adsuara)
