Ben Affleck’s Final Batman Costume Would’ve Been His Best Yet

BEN Affleck’s final Batman costume would have been his best yet, had it not been cut from The Flash.

Affleck’s DCEU Batman appeared at the start of the movie, with the character having an action sequence that may be the closest to the comics Batman has ever had in a movie. While he had an important role in The Flash, telling Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen in an emotional conversation that he should not try to change the past, Affleck’s role was ultimately brief. Adding to that, the actor apparently had a scene cut, and it would have featured his best Batman costume yet.

Affleck’s Batman had quite the visual change in The Flash. Affleck’s Batman costume in The Flash featured a stark change in the character’s color palette from his previous DCEU outings. Likely to fit the movie’s lighter tone in comparison to the rest of the DCEU, director Andy Muschietti decided to leave behind the black and dark gray combination that most other Affleck Batsuits had in favor of a blue and gray design that served as a nod to the character’s similar costume from the comics.

The Flash’s blue and gray Batman costume has the same design as Affleck’s silver and black suit from the movie’s deleted post-credits scene, as rejected concept art of Affleck’s The Flash Batman suit reveals in detail. However, the mix of silver and black helps hide some design choices that made the Dark Knight’s blue and gray The Flash suit look too busy, with many distracting parts, in the finished film.

Affleck’s silver and black Batsuit has a more practical design than the majority of his Batman costumes, and it looks great. While there have been story reasons for Affleck’s Batman to wear Batsuits with more intricate designs, such as the armor he dons to be able to fight Henry Cavill’s Superman, the practical design of his cut silver and black suit manages to be the best of both worlds.

It retains elements that make it impossible for a regular person to assemble, but at the same time looks easier to be put together by Bruce, with the sleek and simple design in The Flash being a worthy addition to the DCEU Batman. (source: screenrant.com)
