Bus sa EDSA busway, dinagdagan

DINAGDAGAN  pa ng  Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) ng 42 bus units na bibiyahe sa EDSA busway.

Bahagi ito ng  ‘trial’ basis’ para sa mga susunod na araw.

Ayon kay LTFRB Chairman Teofilo Guadiz III, nagsimula ang trial/simulation ng rescueOmnibus Franchising Guidelines (OFG)-compliant bus units ng alas-6:00 ng gabi kahapon at matatapos sa Enero 16, 2023 ng 6:00 ng umaga.

“The extra units, which come from bus companies that are not members of the two big consortiums that operate on the EDSA Busway Carousel, are meant to augment the existing number of buses plying said route,” pahayag ni Guadiz.

Base sa Board Resolution No. 191, mas mababa sa requirement number of units na 80% nf authorized units ang humibiyahe.

“The provision of these ‘rescue’ units have been discussed with the two bus consortiums already. Rescue buses were being utilized when there is an established increase in passenger demand and the number of deployed units is insufficient to render efficient service,” pahayag ni Guadiz.

Imo-monitor ang bagong programa sa pamamagitan ng online sa LTFRB’s Franchise Planning and Monitoring Division (FPMD), katuwang ang safetravelph.

Pag-aaralan ng LTFRB ang programa matapos ang pitong araw.

Sa ilalim ng bagong guidelines, magsisimula ng mag-ope­rate ang rescue units ng 12 oras mula alas -6 ng gabi hanggang alas-6 ng umaga.

Pagkatapos nito ay magiging  20-hour run by the regular buses mula  alas-4 ng madaling araw hanggang 12 midnight. (Daris Jose)
