‘Don’t Breathe 2’ Trailer Is Here: Stephen Lang, Reprising The Role Of The Blind Man

THE first trailer for Don’t Breathe 2 is here and Stephen Lang is reportedly the only returning cast member from the original film, reprising the role of Norman Nordstrom AKA The Blind Man.

The original film, directed by Fede Álvarez, originally premiered at SXSW in 2016 on its way to becoming a summer sleeper hit. Don’t Breathe received a glowing reception from critics and audiences alike who praised its white-knuckle thrills and shocking twists, grossing a total of $157 million on a $10 million budget.

Although Álvarez and the majority of the original cast aren’t returning for the upcoming sequel, Don’t Breathe 2 is still highly anticipated regardless.

In the first film followed three young adults as they broke into Norman’s house knowing that he is blind in the hopes of stealing a large amount of cash. Unbeknownst to them, Norman is a Gulf War veteran with a knack for killing who is hiding some serious secrets inside his basement.

Don’t Breathe 2 is flipping the script, though, if early plot details are any indication, as it will follow Norman as he tries to rescue a young girl from a group of criminals who have broken into his isolated home and kidnapped her.

Now, IGN has released the first trailer for Don’t Breathe 2, giving fans a glimpse at Lang’s return and what’s in store for his new victims. The trailer sees Lang’s Norman Nordstrom taking care of an orphaned girl.

When she is kidnapped, her captors tease their knowledge of Norman’s complicated past, something he clearly doesn’t want revealed. Just when they think they’re in the clear, though, Norman comes back to haunt them and take back what’s been taken from him.

The trailer for Don’t Breathe 2 certainly proves what the synopsis insinuates – although the first film posited the Blind Man as a villain, it seems like the sequel will see Norman Nordstrom become the protagonist. Still, it’s clear that his past will still be haunting him in the new film.

The captors who come for the girl he is taking care of mention something about knowing who he really is, indicating that more details about Norman’s past may be uncovered in the new film. It’s possible that these captors are even trying to protect the girl from Norman.

One thing is staying the same from the original Don’t Breathe, though. Norman will find new and disturbing ways to torture those who have wronged him. From using water to detect intruders to throwing a hammer at someone running away from him, it looks like Don’t Breathe 2 will have its fair share of chill-inducing violence.

Luckily, it won’t be long until audiences get to see what’s in store, as the film hits theaters this August. (source: screenrant.com)
