‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’, big winner sa 95th Academy Awards: MICHELLE YEOH, first Asian na manalo ng Oscar best actress at best actor si BRENDAN FRASER

ANG trippy multiverse dramedy na Everything Everywhere All At Once ang tinanghal na big winner sa 95th Academy Awards dahil sa paghakot nito ng 7 awards.

Napanalunan ng naturang pelikula ang Best Picture, Best Director (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert), Best Actress (Michelle Yeoh), Best Supporting Actor (Ke Huy Quan), Best Supporting Actress (Jamie Lee Curtis), Best Original Screenplay, at Best Film Editing.

Michelle Yeoh makes history as the first Asian actress na manalo ng Oscar Best Actress. Ang kauna-unahang aktres of Asian descent na ma-nominate sa category na best actress ay si Merle Oberon para sa pelikulang Dark Angel in 1935. She was Indian-British.

Si Ke Huy Quan, na dating Hollywood child actor ay ang ikalawang Asian actor na manalo sa best supporting actor category. Ang unang Asian actor na nanalo sa category na ito ay si Haing S. Ngor para sa 1984 film na The Killing Fields. Ngot was American-Cambodian at pumanaw ito noong 1996.

Naging Oscar nominees naman noon ang mga magulang ni Jamie Lee Curtis na sina Tony Curtis at Janet Leigh. Na-nominate si Tony Curtis for best actor para sa 1957 film na Sweet Smell of Success. Si Janet Leigh naman ay na-nominate for best supporting actress para sa 1960 psychological thriller na Psycho.

Nagwaging best actor ay si Brendan Fraser for The Whale, ito ang pagbabalik ni Fraser pagkatapos nitong magpahinga sa pag-arte after 9 years. Umabot na sa sampung best actor awards ang napanalunan niya.

Ginanap sa Dolby Theater ang live presentation ng Oscar Awards kunsaan ang host ay si Jimmy Kimmel. Napanood din ang awards ceremony via live stream sa Disney+.
