Hiring ng mga aplikanteng bakunado laban sa COVID-19, hindi diskriminasyon-Galvez

“Public interest is higher than personal interest,”

Ito ang naging pahayag ni vaccine czar at National Task Force Against COVID-19 chief implementer Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. sa nagsasabing isang malinaw na diskriminasyon ang pagtanggi ng mga kumpanya sa mga aplikante na hindi pa bakunado laban sa Covid- 19.

Ipinanukala kasi  ng pribadong sektor sa Inter-Agency Task Force Against Emerging Infectious Diseases na bigyan ng insentibo ang mga bakunadong indibidwal.

Kabilang na rito ang bigyan ang mga kumpanya ng karapatan na mag- hire lamang ng mga bakunadong aplikante.

Ang mga empleyado na hindi pa bakunado ay iminumungkahi na sumailalim sa antigen test o RT-PCR test  linggo-linggo na sarili nilang gastos.

“It is the prerogative of companies to hire, train, promote and fire employees,” ayon kay Galvez.

At sa tanong kung diskriminasyon ba ito sa mga hindi pa bakunado ay sinabi ni Galvez na “It is not discrimination but the moral and corporate responsibility of the company to protect its people, clients, consumers and business interest.”

“The principle of recruitment is to get the best among the qualified. The company has the right to choose and reject applications. Why will you choose [someone] that will become a threat to your existence?” dagdag na pahayag nito.

“In the next round of battle, the next round of surge will be the battle of the unvaccinated which will become the state’s liability and weakness in our fight against COVID-19,” aniya pa.

“They are the burden that we have to carry on this long battle,” ani Galvez.

Ani pa ni Galvez, ang mga kumpanya ay may prerogative na mag-hire o mag- reject ng aplikante para sa “ promotion of public safety and common good.”

“Why hire people who do not accept moral responsibility with the company?” ani Galvez sabay sabing “Private sector has its own rules.  I have been in the recruitment for five years, good moral character and obedience are one of our mandatory requirements. If the applicant does not follow rules, he or she will be automatically disqualified.”
