‘Mr. M’, hiyang-hiyang nag-apologize sa pagkaladkad kina PIOLO at MAJA; ‘SNL’ six months dapat pero natsugi na

NAG–APOLOGIZE si Johnny “Mr. M” Manahan kina Piolo Pascual at Maja Salvador dahil sa pagkatsugi ng Sunday Noontime Live (SNL) sa TV5.

Inamin ni Mr. M na sumama sa SNL ang dalawa dahil sa loyalty nila sa kanya.

Six months daw kasi ang pinangako ng Brightlight Productions sa pag-ere ng SNL. Pero tatlong buwan lang ang inabot nito. Ikinagulat din ni Mr. M ang biglaang pagkatsugi ng show kunsaan siya ang director at creative consultant.

“Actually, they assured us dalawang seasons. One season is three months kaya hanggang March. Kaya hiyang-hiya ako sa dalawa. I talked to them and I said, ‘I’m so sorry for dragging you into this,’” sey ni Mr. M.

Wala na raw kontrata sa ABS-CBN sina Piolo at Maja kaya sumunod sila sa tatay-tatayan nila sa ibang network.

“They did it because I asked. I said, ‘I’m here. Maybe we can do something there at Channel 5. Might be fun going up against ABS-CBN!

“Piolo is a sweet guy. I don’t think he has to work. He only works when he likes it. He’s a sweet guy. I knew he had reservations about the show because it’s in another channel. The same thing with Maja, she had reservations.

“Kasi, they were free agents. Previous to that, ako’ng gumawa nu’ng contracts nila Enrique, Liza, Kathryn, and Daniel. May mga clause, ‘yung, ‘You can’t leave ABS’ clause, gan’on. Si PJ naman matagal naman ‘yang wala ng contract. Free agent siya. And then si Maja, nu’ng nag-lapse… sakto lang na nag-lapse ‘yung contract niya last year. Sabi niya, ‘Let’s do this. Sama ako sa inyo,’” kuwento pa ni Mr. M.

Naging problema raw sa show ay ang mahinang presence pa rin ng TV5 sa masa.

“The weaknesses of Channel 5 began to show — their signal, some people didn’t even know Channel 5 was on the air… They don’t have everything, all the elements, in place,” diin ni Mr. M.

KINASAL sa isang private ceremony ang engaged couple na sina Rocco Nacino and professional volleyball player Melissa Gohing last January 21 sa Pier 13 in South Harbor, Manila.

Noong November 2020 na-engage ang dalawa. Ang nagkasal sa kanila ay isang military chaplain at sa isang naval warship na BRP Tarlac LD602 naganap ang ceremony.

Very private ang wedding nila with only their families at ilang Navy officers ang um-attend dahil sa health and safety protocols. Via Zoom video conference na lang nakapanood ang mga kaibigan nila.

“Yes… we… did…” ang caption ni Rocco sa kanyang Instagram post.

The couple married in the military service to honor the actor for being a member of the Philippine Navy Reserve Command and Naval Special Operations Group (NAVSOG).

Si Rocco ay graduate ng Basic Civilian Military Training noong October 2019 after completing 15 sessions of training and lectures to become a fully-fledged navy reservist. He took his oath as a Petty Officer (PO) 3rd Class with the Philippine Navy a month after.

Ang kanyang all-white ensemble ay isang pagbigay pugay sa suffragettes, na isang group of activist women who led the decades-long fight for women’s right to vote in the U.S.
