Pagsasailalim sa MGCQ, wala pang definite date- CabSec Nograles

WALA pang siguradong petsa kung kailan na ang buong bansa ay isasailalim sa Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ).
Ang MGCQ ay protocol kung saan ay pinapayagang palawigin ang public transport at business operations at paluwagin ang restriction sa mass gathering.
Sa virtual presser ni Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles ay sinabi nito na nais na makita ng Inter-Agency Task Force kung paano muna gugulong ang COVID-19 vaccine rollout bago pa magbigay ng rekomendasyon kay Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte na ituloy na ang MGCQ transition.
“What we do in the IATF is we make recommendations to the President before the first day of the month. In terms of timeline, that might be the same procedure we will follow,” ayon kay CabSec Nograles.
“For the month of March, we will see the rollout of the vaccination program. By the end of March, we will make our recommendation to the President. But at any given point in time, the President may also make a decision with regard to placing the country under within the month of March,” dagdag na pahayag nito.
Wala namang naibigay na sagot si CabSec Nograles nang tanungin kung naitakda na ang target nang tuturukan ng Covid 19 vaccine gaya ng priority sectors bago pa isailalim ang buong bansa sa MGCQ.
“That has been the practice, a month-to-month assessment, month-to-month decision,” ayon kay CabSec Nograles.
“Nakasanayan na rin natin ang ganyang klaseng protocol and we will stick with that,” aniya pa rin.
Sa kasalukuyan, wala ni isa mang dose ng COVID-19 vaccine ang dumating sa bansa kahit pa nakapagbigay na ang Food and Drug Administration ng emergency use authorization (EUA) sa tatlong COVID-19 vaccine brands gaya ng Pfizer-BioNTech, AstraZeneca at Sinovac.
Sinasabing nakuha na ng Pfizer-BioNTech ang EUA noong Enero 14 habang ang AstraZeneca naman ay nakakuha ng EUA noong Enero 28.
Samantala, nakakuha naman ang Sinovac ng EUA noong Pebrero 22, subalit hindi naman inirekuenda ng FDA ang paggamit nito sa mga health workers dahil ang efficacy rate nito ay pumapalo lamang sa 50.4%. (Daris Jose)
