Pagtestigo under oath ni VP Sara sa Kamara, kapalit na kondisyon sa drug, psycho tests ng mga mambabatas

TINANGGAP ng mga mambabatas na miyembro ng Young Guns sa Kamara ang hamon ni Vice President Sara Duterte na sumailalim sa mga tests sa illegal drug substances at psychiatric evaluation, sa kabila na walang pangangailangan para dito.

Ngunit, may kondisyon ang mga mambabatas sa bise presidente na manumpa ito sa harap ng House Blue Ribbon Committee na nagsasagawa ng imbestigasyon sa umano’y maling paggamit ng pondi ng Office of the Vice President (OVP) at Department of Education (DepEd).

“We are more than willing to take the drug test and psychiatric exam, as the Vice President suggested, but we will not allow her to divert the real issue, which is the allegations of fund misuse and graft and corruption against her. We believe that transparency should go both ways. If she wants to challenge us, she should be ready to face the House Blue Ribbon Committee and testify under oath,” pahayag ni House Assistant Majority Leader at Zambales Rep. Jay Khonghun.

Iginiit ng mambabatas na hindi lamang ito para linisin ang pangalan mula sa walang basehang akusasyon kundi pananagutan ng bawat public official,
“I am prepared to take these tests, and I am sure my colleagues are as well. However, the public deserves the same level of transparency when it comes to the use of public funds, and this can only happen if Vice President Duterte agrees to testify,” ani Khonghun.

Nag ugat ang hamon ng VP mula sa mga kritisismo laban sa kanya kabilang na ang panawagan mula sa mga miyembro ng Young Guns, partikular na sa mga naging kontrobersiyal na pahayag at desisyon.

Sinabi naman ni House Assistant Majority Leader at La Union Rep. Paolo Ortega na handa silang sumailalim sa mga tests dahil wala naman silang itinatago. Gayunman, dapat ipakita ng pangalawang pangulo na magpakita ng accountability sa pamamagitan nang pagharap sa kongreso at sagutin ang mga alegasyon laban sa kanya.

“We have nothing to hide. We’re ready to undergo these tests, but in the same breath, the Vice President should demonstrate her accountability by appearing before Congress to answer the allegations of fund misuse in her office. Only then will this challenge truly serve the public interest,” ani Ortega.
