Panawagan ni PBBM sa Pag-IBIG, gawing mas ‘accessible’ ang ‘home loans’

NANAWAGAN si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa Home Development Mutual Fund o Pag-IBIG Fund na gawing mas accessible sa mga Filipino ang kanilang home mortgage financing upang matugunan ang housing backlog sa bansa.
Sa Pag-IBIG Fund Chairman’s Report for Year 2023 sa Pasay City, binati ng Pangulo ang Pag-IBIG Fund para sa record-high performance nito noong nakaraang taon.
Gayunman, tinuran ng Punong Ehekutibo na “We are far from declaring ‘mission accomplished’… we have inherited a huge housing backlog that must be reduced.”
“And so with the same spirit, I urge the Pag-IBIG Fund to make its home mortgage financing even more accessible and to balance this with sustainability. This is to inspire Filipinos today, and the generations to come, to work hard to reach their goal of a house that they can call their own,” aniya pa rin.
“With millions of our countrymen denied the right to decent shelter, the stakes could not be higher. So, our task is clear: To build the most number of housing units by any administration,” dagdag na wika nito.
Sa kabilang dako, sa ulat naman ni Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar, pinuno ng Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) at chairman ng 11-member Pag-IBIG Fund Board of Trustees, sinabi nito na sama-samang nakaipon ang mga miyembro ng P89.26 billion noong 2023, itinuturing na “new record-high” para sa laki ng membership savings sa kasaysayan ng ahensiya.
Para naman sa Modified Pag-IBIG 2 (MP2) savings, ang mga miyembro ay sama-samang nakaipon ng P46.54 billion.
Ani Acuzar, ipinalabas naman ng Pag-IBIG Fund ang pinakamataas na housing loan na P126.04 billion, layon na tulungan na tustusan ang mahigit sa 96,000 housing units.
Kaya sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos na “the challenge, including those in the Pag-IBIG, the housing sector, and the local government units, is to translate the recent gains into actual homes people can move into.”
Sa kabilang dako, ipinatutupad naman na ng administrasyong Marcos ang Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Housing (4PH) Program naglalayong tugunan ang pangangailangan para sa disenteng pabahay at gusali para sa maaaring maging epekto sa isang matatag na sektor sa lumalagong ekonomiya.
Mayroon itong ambisyosong adhikain na magtayo ng isang milyong low-cost housing units kada taon hanggang sa pagtatapos ng termino ni Pangulong Marcos.
Samantala, sinabi ni Acuzar na mayroong P20.17 billion approved loans ang inaprubahan para sa 4PH program, layon na tulungan na pondohan ang 17,791 housing units.
Nangako naman si Acuzar ng P250 billion hanggang 2028 para sa 4PH program. (Daris Jose)
