BINATI ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., ang lahat ng law enforcement personnel sa matagumpay na pag-aresto kay dating Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo sa Tangerang City, Jakarta, Indonesia.
Si Alice Guo, o mas kilala bilang Gua Hua Ping ay naaresto dakong bandang 1:30, kaninang madaling araw, Setyembre 4, 2024.
“I congratulate all law enforcement personnel who made this apprehension possible. The public may not know the intricate details of this mission that you have successfully accomplished, but on their behalf, accept my thanks,” ayon sa video message ni Pangulong Marcos.
Pinasalamatan din aniya ng Pilipinas ang Indonesian government para sa naging tulong ng mga ito sa naturang bagay.
“The close cooperation between our two governments has made this arrest possible,” ayon sa Pangulo.
“Let this serve as a warning to those who attempt to evade justice. Such is an exercise in futility. The arm of the law is long and it will reach you,” aniya pa rin.
Giit ng Pangulo na ipagpapatuloy ng pamahalaan na ipatupad ang ‘rule of law.’
“Ms. Guo shall be entitled to all legal protections due her under the laws of the land, and pursuant to our commitment to the rule of law. But we will not allow this to prolong the resolution of the case, whose outcome will be a victory for the Filipino people,” pagtiyak pa rin ng Pangulo.
Sa ulat, sinabi ni Senior Superintendent Audie Latuheru ng Indonesia Police, bandang 1:30 ng madaling araw kanina nang maaresto si Guo sa Tangerang City, sa lalawigan ng Banten na nasa western border ng Jakarta.
Ito’y matapos ang kanyang pagtakas kasama ang mga kapatid na si Wesley at Shiela Guo.
Kasalukuyang nasa kustodiya ng Indonesian Police sa Jatanras Mabes Polri si Guo.
Kaugnay nito, sinabi ni Justice Secretary Boying Remulla na ang pagkakaaresto ni Guo ay isang patunay ng pagsisikap ng mga law enforcement agencies na panagutin sa batas ang mga nagkasala.
Tiniyak rin ni Remulla na papanagutin si Guo kanyang mga pagkakasala. (Daris Jose)
