“In government, we could not do our jobs if you’re not there. And I think that goes both ways,” ang sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos sa mga mamamahayag sa isang event, araw ng Lunes, Disyembre 16.

“At times, there are things you bring up to us na baka hindi namin nakita, o baka hindi namin naramdaman, o baka hindi namin napag-isipan, and we should be looking at it,” aniya pa rin.

“Sometimes, and I will admit to this, there is a tendency for us to try and structure the releases, the news and the opinions or the responses very, very closely. And that’s because we don’t want to get it wrong. However, I think there still a space for us to be a little bit less structured,” ang sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos.

“Let’s start in the new year, we’ll try to make things less structured and I’ll make myself more accessible to you,” aniya pa rin.

“Because there are so many times — believe me it works both ways — I read the newspaper, I watch the television, I look on social media and there are many times gusto kong sagutin kasi may sagot naman, may magandang sagot diyan pero hindi, kasi kailangan it has to be part of this, you know, we have to attend to other issues. But I think there is space, there is sufficient space,” ang sinabi ng Punong Ehekutibo.

“Matalino ang Pilipino e, and sometimes we, I feel, ‘yung mga Pinoy wise yan e, advanced tayo. And we shouldn’t underestimate the understanding of an ordinary citizen. They understand more than we think,” aniya pa rin.

“They want to close the sources of information. Gusto nila ikulong. Sasabihin nila ito ang tama. Palitan natin ‘yun,” ang winika nito.

“The only way, at least for our part in the government, is to open it up more…. Mabilis ang takbo ng panahon eh. We cannot just stand by and let all of these bad apples take over the discussion, take over the narrative. We will be part of that narrative, a very strong voice of that narrative,” ang lahad ni Pangulong Marcos. (Daris Jose)
