PH nag-protesta vs agresibong aktibidad ng China sa Scarborough Shoal

Nag-protesta ang Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) laban sa agresibong panghaharang ng Chinese Coast Guard (CCG) sa mga nagpa-patrolyang barko ng Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) malapit sa Bajo de Masinloc o Scarborough Shoal.

Sa isang statement, sinabi ng ahensya na nangyari ang insidente sa gitna ng lehitimong maritime patrol at training exercise ng PCG sa Scarborough Shoal noong April 24 at 25.

“The DFA has protested the shadowing, blocking, dangerous maneuver, and radio challenges by the CCG.”

Inihayag din ng kagawaran ang pagtutol sa pahayag ng Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs noong nakaraang buwan, kung saan iginiit nito ang soberanya ng Beijing sa naturang teritoryo.

Ayon sa Foreign Affairs department, walang basehan na international law ang pag-angkin ng China sa Scarborough Shoal.

“Including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), and is not recognized by the international community.”

Bukod sa insidente sa Bajo de Masinloc, nag-protesta rin ang DFA laban sa iligal, at dumaraming presensya ng mga barko ng Chinese fishermen at maritime militia sa Philippine maritime zones.

Ayon sa ahensya, simula January 1 hanggang March 18 ngayong taon, higit 100 aktibidad ng China na ang na-monitor ng mga otoridad sa West Philippine Sea.

Partikular na sa bahagi ng Pag-asa Islands, Zamora Reef, Panata at Kota Islands, Ayungin Shoal, Quirino Atoll, at Bajo de Masinloc.

“The Kalayaan Island Group and Bajo de Masinloc are integral parts of the Philippines over which it has sovereignty and jurisdiction,” ayon sa DFA statement.

“The Philippines’ conduct of maritime patrols and training exercises in these areas is a legitimate and routine act of a sovereign country in its territory and territorial waters and is part of the Philippines’ administrative responsibility.”

Iginiit ng kagawaran na walang law enforcement rights ang China sa nabanggit na mga lugar.

Tinawag din ng DFA na lantarang paglabag sa kasarinlan ng Pilipinas ang patuloy na presensya ng Beijing sa pag-aaring teritoryo ng bansa.

“The presence of Chinese Coast Guard vessels in the Philippines’ territorial waters of Pag-asa Islands and Bajo de Masinloc, and exclusive economic zone, raises serious concern.”

“The Philippines calls on China to withdraw its government vessels around the Kalayaan Island Group and Bajo de Masinloc and respect Philippine sovereignty.”

Simula noong Marso, ilang diplomatic protest na ang inihain ng DFA sa Beijing, matapos madiskubre ang presensya ng Chinese maritime militia sa paligid ng Julian Felipe reef.

Noong 2016 nang ideklara ng The Hague sa Netherlands na walang bansa ang maaaring umangkin sa Bajo de Masinloc dahil itinuturing itong “traditional fishing ground” ng mga mangingisdang Chinese, Vietnamese, at Pilipino. (Gene Adsuara)
