PHILHEALTH: ‘NAGBAYAD NA KAMI NG P1.6-BILLION SA PH RED CROSS’

ITINANGGI ng Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) na may utang pa silang higit P930-million sa Philippine Red Cross (PRC) para sa mga isinagawang COVID-19 tests ng private institution.
“As of September 2020, PhilHealth already paid the PRC a total of P1.6 billion for at least 433,263 tests,” ayon sa state- health insurer sa isang statement.
Magugunitang sinabi ng PRC na bigo ang PhilHealth na bayaran ang outstanding balance nito sa kabila ng kasunduan nila ng institusyon na paglalaan ng revolving fund at pagbababa sa presyo ng singil sa testing.
Dahil dito, napilitan ang Red Cross na itigil ang pagtanggap sa COVID-19 tests na naka-angkla ang bayad sa PhilHealth package.
“The PRC cannot commit to these orders unless it has the finances to pay for the orders. This is what makes PhilHealth’s settlement of its outstanding obligations critical,” ayon sa PRC.
Sa ngayon nakikipag-ugnayan na raw ang PhilHealth sa PRC para maibalik ang napagkasunduan nilang serbisyo.
“It is in close coordination with the PRC to thresh out issues pertaining to the said partnership so the PRC can immediately resume accommodating RT-PCR tests for priority sectors that will be paid for by PhilHealth.”
Habang hinihintay ang proseso at resulta ng pag-uusap, may payo ang PhilHealth sa mga apektadong sektor dahil sa pansamantalang paghinto ng PRC.
“In the meantime, it is requesting that specimens from affected sectors be submitted to other accredited testing laboratories to be able to avail of PhilHealth benefits.
