Pinas, nakatakdang tumanggap ng 2 milyong doses ng bakunang Sinovac at Gamaleya ngayong Abril

SINABI ni Vaccine Czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. na nakatakdang tumanggap ang Pilipinas ng 2 milyong doses ng bakunang Sinovac na gawa ng China at Gamaleya Research Institute ng Russia ngayong buwan.
Sa 2 milyong doses, 1.5 milyon ang ide-deliver ng Sinovac habang ang 500,000 naman ay manggagaling mula sa Gamaleya.
Hinggil naman sa karagdagang donasyon ng AstraZeneca vaccine doses sa ilalim ng COVAX Facility, sinabi ni Galvez na gumagamit sila ng diplomatic channels upang matiyak na matatanggap ng bansa ang nasabing bakuna.
Ani Galvez, ang AstraZeneca shots ay maaaring dumating sa bansa sa huling bahagi ng buwan ng Abril.
Ang impormasyong ito ay mula kay World Health Organization country representative Rabindra Abeyasinghe.
“Because of the global vaccine shortage, there will be a delay. The agreed quantity which was 920,000 vaccine doses will come but because of the shortage, what we have been informed is that we may need to expect the reduced quantity which may come over [in] the next few weeks,” ayon kay Abeyasinghe.
“But eventually as production peaks up, we will deliver on the 20% of vaccines to cover 20% of the population. So this is the agreement that COVAX has with the Philippine government and we are still committed to do that.” dagdag na pahayag nito.
Samantala, mahigit sa 800,000 Filipino na ang naturukan ng COVID-19 vaccine simula nang magsimula ang mass immunization program noong Marso 1, ayon sa government data. (Daris Jose)
