Pogoy kinilala ng FIBA

Ikinatuwa ni Gilas Pilipinas player Roger Ray Pogoy na napansin ito sa international arena at nabigyan pa ng titulo bilang most improved players ng FIBA.com.
Ayon sa FIBA, hinirang nila si Pogoy base sa statistic record nito sa FIBA Asia Cup 2017 hanggang 2021 FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers first window noong Pebrero.
Base sa record ng FIBA, sa unang windows ay kumamada ito ng average na 16 points at anim na rebounds sa loob ng 22.8 minutes na paglalaro.
Nagpakita umano ito ng improvement mula sa average na 7.0 points at 3.5 rebounds sa 2017 FIBA Asia Cup.
Sinabi ng FIBA na isa si Pogoy sa itinuturing na malaking tulong sa depensa na kayang magpuntos at mahalaga sa Gilas at maikukumpara sa kapwa Gilas player na si Jayson Castro.
Bukod kay Pogoy, hinirang din most improved players sa Asya sina Muin Bek Hafeez ng India, Hassan Abdullah ng Iraq, Maxim Marchuk ng Kazakhstan, Jordan Ngatai ng New Zealand, Abdelrahman Yehia Abdelhaleem ng Qatar at Abdulwahab Alhamwi ng Syria.
