ANOTHER A-list celebrity joins the cast of Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder with the addition of Gladiator star Russell Crowe.
Joining Chris Hemsworth, who is reprising his role as the God of Thunder; Natalie Portman; and Christian Bale, who will be playing the villain.
Crowe’s role is being kept under wraps and the hope was to surprise fans with this fun cameo when the film was released, but following recent photos of Crowe hanging out with the cast all over Australia, Deadline has confirmed he is in the movie.
Insiders say Crowe is one of many surprises to come out of the film, with Matt Damon also confirmed to reprise his cameo as Loki from Thor: Ragnarok.
A host of set photos from the fourth Thor film in the Marvel Studios franchise have spoiled surprise cameos that are scheduled to take place.
Photos released at the beginning of March revealed Melissa McCarthy will make her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as Hela in Thor: Love and Thunder.
McCarthy will take on the role of Cate Blanchett’s Hela. McCarthy was also joined by her husband Ben Falcone and Luke Hemsworth as the trio re-enacts their take on the star-studded play scene.
There have also been rumors that Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster may also return in Love and Thunder. Goldblum was seen with Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi and Thor actor Chris Hemsworth at Stadium Australia as the group watched a National Rugby League match between the South Sydney Rabbitohs and Sydney Roosters. Coincidentally, the group took in the festivities from Russell Crowe’s private box.
Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Jaimie Alexander as Lady Sif, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax, Karen Gillen as Nebula and Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher.
The film arrives in theaters May 6, 2022. (ROHN ROMULO)
