Single ticketing system aprubado na

APRUBADO  na ng Metro Manila Council (MMC) ang pagpapatupad ng single ticketing system sa Metro Manila.

Nagbigay ng pagsangayon ang labing-pitong (17) Metro Manila mayors sa Resolution No. 23-02 ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) kung saannakapaloob ang Metro Manila Traffic Code of 2023.

Ayon kay MMC chairman at San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora ang mga lokal ng pamahalaan ng kalakhang Manila ay binibigyan hanggang March 15 na magpasa ng kanila kanilang ordinances tungkol sa pagpapatupad ng nasabing order. Nais naman nilang sa April nasimulan ang pagpapatupad ng single ticketing system. Ang nasabing Metro Manila Traffic Code ay malaking tulong sa mga motorista.

“The erring motorists are no longer needed to go to the city hall to redeem their license. They can pay the fine wherever they are in the Philippines. It will also be a good help for our countrymen, especially with the standardization of our fines. They will not be confused with the fines anymore because the rates will be the same across the cities,” wikani Zamora.

Ayon naman kay MMDA chairman Romando Artes na ang Metro Manila Traffic Code ng 2023 ay magbibigay ng isang sistema para sa interconnectivity ng mga government instrumentalities nakasama sa transport at traffic management sa kalakhang Manila dahil sa pagkakaroon ng isang harmonized fines at penalties.

Ang nasabing resolusyon ay ipadadala sa Land Transportation Office (LTO) at mga local city councils para kanilang gayahin.

“This is a historic moment for all of us because after more than 20 years, Metro Manila is finally adopting the single ticketing system that will highly benefit our motorists. The single ticketing system would help avoid confusion among our driving public, as well as the option to pay electronically for their violations. Driver’s license will also not be confiscated during apprehension,” saad ni Artes.

Nasa ilalim ng Metro Manila Traffic Code ang disregarding traffic signs, illegal parking, number coding, truck ban, light truck ban, reckless driving, unregistered motor vehicle, driving without license, tricycle ban, obstruction, dress code for motorcycle, overloading, defective motorcycle accessories, unauthorized modification, arrogance/discourteous conduct of the driver, illegal counterflow at speeding na siyang pinaka-common na traffic violation.

Ang mga special laws tulad ng Seat Belts Use Act of 1999, Child Safety in Motor Vehicles Act, Mandatory Use of Motorcycle Helmet Act, Children’s Safety on Motorcycle Act, Anti-Distracted Driving Act at Anti-Drunk and Drugged Driving Act ay kasamana rin sa Metro Manila Traffic Code.

Dagdag ni Artes na ang MMDA ay bibili ng mga equipment at hardware ganoon din ang IT requirements na kailangan para sa seamless at simultaneous rollout para sa integration ng LTO’s Land Transportation Management System.  LASACMAR
