Barangay 143 (October 1)
Barangay 143 is a Filipino-Japanese anime TV series about a basketball star who finds a home in a team of misfits as he searches for his real father in Manila. Its voice cast includes Migo Adecer, Julie Anne San Jose, Ruru Madrid, Kelley Day, John Arcilla, Edu Manzano, and Cherie Gil.
Emily in Paris (October 2)
From Sex and the City creator Darren Star comes Emily in Paris. It follows Emily, an American who moves to Paris after landing her dream job at a luxurious marketing firm. There, she tries to adapt to her new home and work- place while trying to meet new friends and romance prospects. The show stars Lily Collins, Philippine Leroy Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, and more.
The Haunting of Bly Manor (October 9)
The Haunting of Bly Manor is the highly-anticipate chapter of The Haunting anthology series. It centers on Henry Wingrave, who hires a young American nanny to care for his orphaned niece and nephew at the Bly Manor. Dead doesn’t mean gone at the manor as centuries of dark secrets are still waiting to be unearthed. The series stars Henry Thomas, Victoria Pedretti, Amelie Bea Smith, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, Amelia Eve, and T’Nia Miller.
BLACKPINK: Light Up the Sky (October 14)
BLACKPINK: Light Up the Sky is Netflix’s first original K- pop documentary, and puts the spotlight on the South Korean group, their beginnings, and their rise to fame. It’s set to feature interviews and never-before-seen footages of members Jennie, Rosé, Jisoo, and Lisa, as well as glimpses on the making of the group’s follow-up album.
Over the Moon (October 23)
An animated musical film from director Glen Keane, Over the Moon centers on a smart young girl named Fei Fei who builds a rocket ship to the moon to prove that the Moon Goddess Chang’e exists. As she does so, she ends up discovering a land of whimsical creatures while going on an unexpected quest. The voice cast of the film includes Cathy Ang, Philippa Soo, Ken Jeong, Ruthie Ann Miles, Sandra Oh, and more.
The Queen’s Gambit (October 23)
A limited series based on the novel by Walter Tevis, The Queen’s Gambit is a coming-of-age story centering on an orphan named Beth Harmon who realizes that she has a talent for chess while getting addicted to the tranquilizers given to her. With her own demons and her addition to narcotics, she becomes a skilled and glamorous out- cast in the male-dominated world of competitive chess. It stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Marielle Heller, Tho- mas Brodie-Sangster, Moses Ingram, and more.
Hayop Ka! The Nimfa Dimaano Story (October 29)
Hayop Ka! The Nimfa Dimaano Story is a Filipino ani- mated flick following Nimfa, a pretty cat selling perfume at a department store and whose boy- friend is a janitor askal named Roger. When she meets the bour- geoisie business dog Inigo, their chemistry ignites and she finds herself torn between the two men. Angelica Panganiban, Robin Padilla, Sam Milby, Piolo Pascual, and more lend their voices for this adult animate film from director Avid Liongoren.
Start-Up (Coming Soon)
Bae Suzy star alongside Nam Joo Hyuk in the upcoming Netflix K- drama Start-Up. The drama centers on young entrepreneurs who all aspire to make their virtual dreams into a reality as they compete for success and love in the world of Korea’s high- tech industry.
