Warner Bros. Unveils A New Poster for ‘The Matrix Resurrections’, Reteams Neo and Trinity

WARNER Bros. has unveiled a fresh new poster for The Matrix Resurrections showcasing its tagline, “Return to the source and reteams Neo and Trinity.

Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Ann Moss starred as the faces of the original Matrix trilogy that was released from 1999 to 2003. Now, the two are reuniting for a reboot helmed by Lana Wachowski, the first entry into the series she directed without her sibling, Lilly.

Together with Reeves and Moss, Jada Pinkett Smith also reprises her role as Niobe from the previous films. They are joined by newcomers Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jessica Henwick, Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Christina Ricci.

Set two decades after the events of The Matrix Revolutions, the fourth film in the series will continue to focus on Reeves’ lead character Neo, though he is now living a seemingly ordinary life in San Francisco under his birth name, Thomas A. Anderson, and appears to have no memory of the events of the previous movies.

That is, until Morpheus offers him a red pill which reopens his mind to the life-changing truth that is the Matrix. While Laurence Fishburne won’t be back in the role, Abdul-Mateen will take over as a younger version of Morpheus.

The promotional poster itself highlights the two main returning characters, Neo (Reeves) and Trinity (Moss), dressed in their leather ensembles with a hint of the series’ signature digital rain in the background.

The new poster chooses to put the focus squarely on the series’ two original characters, who look just as sleek and stylish as they did 22 years ago in the first installment.

The first trailer for The Matrix Resurrections offers a bit of insight into the nature of Neo and Trinity’s relationship at the outset of the film. They appear to run into each other early on, but have no memory of one another, even though they think they might.

Right now, much of the film’s plot remains a mystery, but perhaps that’s just the way Warner Bros. wants it, saving all the surprises for when the film premieres on December 22 in theaters and on HBO Max. (source: screenrant.com)
