SOURCE CODE HAWAK NA NG BANGKO SENTRAL

HAWAK na ng Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) ang source code para sa automated election system (AES).
Ang dalawang security boxes ay inabot nina Commission on Elections Executive Director Bartolome Sinocruz at Atty. John Rex Laudiangco, director ng Comelec Law Department, sa mga kinatawan ng central bank sa isang seremonya na ginanap sa BSP complex sa Pasay City.
Bahagi ng escrow agreement ang opisyal na turnover na nilagdaan ng mga opisyal ng Comelec at BSP noong Lunes.
Sina Sinocruz, Laudiangco ay sinamahan ni BSP Managing Director Rosabel Guerrero, Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez, mga kinatawan mula sa Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting, at mga piling tauhan ng media sa pagdeposito ng source codes sa loob ng BSP vault.
“Now, we will witness the actual turnover and deposit of the source code for the 2022 national and local elections. It shall be kept in escrow with the BSP as mandated by the automation law,” sinabi ni Comelec Commissioner Marlon Casquejo sa kanyang virtual speech.
Ito aniya ay upang matiyak at masiguro ng publiko na ang halalan sa darating na 2022 national at local elections ay magiging malinis.
Si Casquejo ang pinuno ng Comelec steering committee para sa 2022 national and local elections.
Dagdag pa, tiniyak ni Jimenez sa publiko na ang integridad ng halalan ay mapoprotektahan sa gitna ng patuloy na alitan sa pagitan ng mga outgoing at uupong poll commissioner.
“The Comelec is very much aware of the current concerns about the credibility of the elections, the integrity of the elections… The source code really is the heart and soul of the automated election system and the fact that we have the source code here where it is protected from all dangers, gives us certainty that the source code that we will be using on the election day is trustworthy,” ani Jimenez
Sa panig naman ng BSP, tiniyak ni Guerrero sa publiko na tanging opisyal ng Comelec ang makakapagbukas ng vault na naglalaman ng flash drives para sa source codes. GENE ADSUARA
