Mababasa sa libro ng ‘Shazam’ star na ‘Radical Love’: ZACHARY LEVI, naging open sa mga pinagdaanang mental health struggles

DAHIL sa critically-acclaimed performance ng Filipino actress na si Dolly de Leon sa Palme d’Or winning Swedish film na Triangle of Sadness, pinapirma siya ng artist company na Fusion Entertainment para sa management ng kanyang acting career.

Ang naturang artist management company ang siyang mag-represent kay Dolly sa mga offers nitong for film and television. Ang Fushion Entertainment ay pag-aari ng US film and marketing executives na sina Adam Kersh at Chris Evans.

“Dolly is an exceptional actress whose performance in ‘Triangle of Sadness’ was charming, funny, and thought provoking. Mula sa pagiging bit player lang sa mga TV and films sa Pilipinas, ngayon ay hawak na si Dolly ng isang international entertainment management na ang clients ay mula mga diverse artist tulad ng American multi-hyphenates na sina Cooper Raiff at Amy Seimetz, US filmmakers Sean Baker and Ira Sachs, and breakout stars Mya Taylor and Namir Smallwood.

Sey ni Dolly noon sa Variety: “To be honest, I have not broken out in the Philippines. I have not. I play bit roles — lawyers, doctors, the mother of the lead, the principal of a school, or the psychiatrist. We have a rich history; we have a lot of stories to tell. It would be great if Filipinos were represented more in mainstream media.”

PAM-BEAUTY queen ang dating ng Sparkle artist na si Cheska Fausto, pero mas pinili nito na pasukin ang showbiz dahil gusto raw niyang ipakita ang mga kaya niyang gawin bilang isang artista.

Bago pinasok ng Zamboangueña beauty ang pag-audition sa Sparkle GMA Artist Center, content creator ito at influencer sa social media. Marami siyang followers sa Instagram, Tiktok at mga subscribers sa kanyang YouTube channel. Hindi raw enough na nagpo-promote siya ng mga pampaganda, kaya naisipan niyang pasukin ang ibang mundo.

Noong matanggap siya bilang isa sa Sparkada, agad siyang sumailalim sa intensive training at workshops kasama ang ibang pang nakapasa sa audition.

“Bago po kasi kami ni-launch, we really went on an intensive training po talaga. Halos every single day, nagwo-workshop po kami sa acting, singing, dancing, and even in communications kasi meron sa amin na nag-e-English talaga lagi so kailangan namin matutong mag-Tagalog talaga.

“Salamat sa Sparkle GMA Artist Center, and of course, sa talent development teams for giving us the workshops dahil kailangan po talaga namin ‘yon para mas prepared pa po kami or mas handa kami para sa inyo pong lahat,” sey ni Cheska.

Two months after nilang na-launch as Sparkada, kasama si Cheska sa cast ng unang episode ng Luv Is: Caught In His Arms kunsaan bida ang loveteam nila Sofia Pablo at Allen Ansay. NAGING open ang aktor na si Zachary Levi tungkol sa mga pinagdaanan niyang mental health struggles sa kanyang book titled “Radical Love.”

Nilalaman ng libro ang naging struggle ng bida ng DC Film na Shazam sa pagkakaroon ng anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, and childhood trauma.

“I had been through really dark periods in my life prior to when I had contemplated ending my own life, but this was I would say the darkest. I felt like I had failed no matter how much I had accomplished, and by that point, I had accomplished a good amount.

“No matter what it looked like from the outside, I was very good at masking it. I was also very good at self-medicating all of these things through sex and drugs and booze, but I was running from so much trauma, so much pain.

“For one, it’s real and it’s vulnerable, and I’m hoping that this book helps some people walk through the flames that I was able to get through,” kuwento pa ng aktor.

Unti-unti raw naka-recover si Levi sa kanyang mental health kahit na inabot ito ng limang taon: “I am still learning and growing and practicing grace.”

Kasalukuyang abala si Levi sa dalawang malalaking pelikula. Una ay ang reboot ng Spy Kids kunsaan kasama niya ang Jane The Virgin star Gina Rodriguez. Ang ikalawa ay ang Shazam 2 na co-stars niya sina Helen Mirren at Lucy Liu.
