“Basically the reason why we seek the GAB’s approval is because number one, it’s long overdue to have a women’s professional league. That’s number one, it’s long overdue,” ani NBL executive vice president Rhose Montreal sa isang podcast.
“Second, you just see women ballers everytime there’s an international competition like the SEA Games and then later on after the SEA Games, again we go back to that word continuity. There’s no continuity either,” hirit ng opisyal.
“So what will GAB bring to WNBL, there’s already a regulatory body, there will be protection both for the team owner and for the players especially that, this is my personal opinion though, that majority of the women ballers are being exploited. Exploited meaning there will be like a manager thing and then financing the ladies, financing the players but basically it’s not really the way you operate as a team,” salaysay ni Montreal.
“Everybody, all the players will be getting a contract, they will be protected by a contract, they have to be paid a salary. Because once you say professional, you have to get a salary already, it cannot be a per game payment or a per practice thing anymore or allowances. Basically, it’s really professionalizing the league management and professionalizing running the team. So basically that’s GAB will bring in to WNBL as we become a pro league,” pagtatapos niya.
(REC)
