Batas na magpapataw ng mas maraming buwis sa Pogo, tinintahan na ni pdu30

INAPRUBAHAN ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte ang batas na magtatakda ng karagdagang buwis sa Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGOs).
“Pinirmahan kahapon, September 22, 2021, ang Republic Act No. 11590 or an Act taxing Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations,” ayon kay Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque.
“Bahagi ito sa ating mahigpit na pagri-regulate ng lahat ng klase ng gambling at pagbabawal ng ilegal na sugal,” dagdag na pahayag nito.
Tinatayang 60% ng buwis na nakokokolekta mula sa offshore gambling ay gagamitin para sa universal health care program, habang ng 20% naman ay mapupunta sa pagpapahusay sa medical facilities at ang natitira namang 20% ay para sa “sustainable development goals.”
Nito lamang Hunyo ay sinertipikahan bilang urgent bill ni Pangulong Duterte ang tax regime na saklaw ang lahat ng Philippine offshore gaming operators (Pogos).
