Chot dismayado sa pullout ng South Korea

DISMAYADO si Gilas Pilipinas head coach Chot Reyes sa biglaang pullout ng South Korea sa FIBA World Cup Qualifiers na sasambulat ngayong araw sa Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Nagdesisyon ang pamunuan ng Korea Basketball Association (KBA) na lumiban sa February window matapos magpositibo ang isa sa 12 players nito sa lineup.
Kaya naman apektado ang training camp ng Gilas Pilipinas.
Inamin ni Reyes na isa ang South Korea sa mga pinaghahandaan nito sa qualifiers lalo pa’t dalawang beses sana itong makakalaban ng Gilas Pilipinas.
“It throws a monkey wrench in our preparations because we have been preparing for Korea for the past week,” ani Reyes.
Mula sa apat na laro, magiging dalawa na lamang ang laro ng Gilas Pilipinas sa qualifiers — laban sa India sa Biyernes at kontra sa New Zealand sa Linggo.
Nabago ang program ng Gilas Pilipinas na sesentro na lamang sa kung paano tatalunin ang India at New Zealand.
“We would like to think that we built this team on versatility. Agility was one of the very first things we talked about in our first practice and how we really need to prepare for whatever comes,” ani Reyes.
