DILG, pinapayagan ang PNP, BJMP, BFP personnel na magsuot ng ‘light uniforms’ sa gitna ng matinding init ng panahon

PINAYAGAN ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) ang mga tauhan ng Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) na magsuot ng light uniforms habang naka-duty sa gitna ng heat index na umaabot sa dangerous levels sa maraming bahagi ng bansa.

Sa katunayan, binasa ni Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos sa isang news forum ang DILG urgent memorandum na nagbibigay-atas sa mga hepe ng tatlong ahensiya na magpalabas ng kani-kanilang advisory hinggil sa uniform attire.

“In view of the foregoing, you are hereby directed to issue an Urgent Advisory for all PNP, BJMP and BFP personnel to wear light uniforms in the performance of their respective duties to alleviate discomfort and protect them from illnesses such as heat cramps, exhaustion, heat stroke, among others, due to extreme heat,” ang nakasaad sa memorandum.

Bago pa ang DILG order, nagpalabas na ang BJMP ng isang memorandum hinggil sa modified schedule ng pagsusuot ng uniforms sa panahon ng tag-init, pinapayagan ang mga tauhan nito na gumamit ng gray shirts mula Martes hanggang Biyernes.

Sa isang kalatas ng DILG, sinabi ni Abalos na, “The welfare of our uniformed personnel comes first especially as they perform their sworn duty sabay sabing ang pagsusuot ng ‘light at comfortable uniforms’ sa gitna ng napakainit na panahon ay “is the way to go.”

“The tri-bureau’s line of work already poses a lot of risks, now coupled with the hazards of extreme heat temperature kaya kailangan din natin protektahan ang ating uniformed personnel from the PNP, BFP and BJMP,” ayon kay Abalos. (Daris Jose)
