DTI bantay sarado sa ‘price freeze’ sa mga lugar na nasa state of calamity

MAHIGPIT na binabantayan ng Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) ang mga presyo ng basic necessities na naka “price freeze” bunsod ng deklarasyon ng state of calamity sa Metro Manila at Batangas.

“In view of the Metro Manila Council (MMC) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s (DILG) declaration of state of calamity in the National Capital Region due to the devastating effects of Super Typhoon Carina and the southwest monsoon, and pursuant to Section 6 of the Price Act of the Philippines (RA 7581) as amended, please be informed that prices of basic necessities in the region are automatically frozen. “ nakasaad sa DTI advisory.

Miyerkules, Hulyo 24, 2024 sa kasagsagan ng ma­tinding pagbuhos ng ulan at mga pagbaha na dala ng Habagat nang ideklara ang state of calamity sa 17 lungsod at munisipalidad sa National Capital Region matapos makapagkasunduan ng Metro Manila Council (MMC) na nasundan ng pagdeklara ng DTI ng Price Freeze.

Nagbabala rin ang DTI sa mga negosyo, kabilang ang mga hotel at transient homes, laban sa “price gouging” o hindi makatwirang pagtataas ng presyo.

Hinihikayat ang publiko na iulat ang anumang insidente ng overpricing at mga katulad na paglabag sa DTI Consumer Care Hotline 1-384 o sa email address consumercare@dti.gov.ph. (Daris Jose)
