Ekonomiya ng Pinas, “performed well” ngayong taon ng 2023 — NEDA

IPINAGMALAKI ng Malakanyang na nagpakitang-gilas ang ekonomiya ng PIlipinas ngayong taon sa gitna ng mga hamon na nararanasan ng bansa.
Sa press briefing sa Malakanyang, sinabi ni National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) chief Arsenio Balisacan na ang Pilipinas ay isa sa “best performing economies” sa Southeast Asian economies.
“We have done well because if you look at the way, the—we have performed in relation to our many other countries, we have remained among the top performers—economic performers in Asia,” anito.
Nananatili namang kumpiyansa si Balisacan na makakamit ng Pilipinas ang 6% growth target para sa 2023.
Sa ulat, ang Gross Domestic Product (GDP) para sa unang tatlong kuwarter (quarter) ng 2023 ay lumago ng 5.5%.
“Initially, slow growth was attributed to low consumer and government spending in the first two quarters of the year, but the economy has since caught up,” ayon sa ulat.
Tiniyak naman ni Balisacan na naghihinay-hinay ang pamahalaan sa paggasta bilang leksyon na kinokonsidera para mapabuti ang pamamahala ng mga programa para sa 2024.
“We had hiccups in the government spending in the first half of the year, right? And that really hit us hard by way of growth in the kind of services we’re able to provide for our people,” ayon kay Balisacan.
“We have learned our lesson from then [and] we would not want to see that repeated in the coming year,” dagdag na wika nito. (Daris Jose)
