Itinalaga na bilang bagong chairman ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) si dating Mandaluyong City mayor Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos Jr.
Hahalili si Abalos kay dating MMDA chairman Danilo Lim na sumakabilang buhay noong nakalipas na linggo.
Bagama’t hindi pa kumpirmado kung ano ang ikinamatay ni Lim, sinabi nito na nagpositibo ito sa COVID-19.
Ang pagpapalit sa liderato ng MMDA ay kinumpirma ni Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, ngunit hindi na naglahad pa ng karagdagang mga detalye.
Bukas, Enero 11, umano ang nakatakdang oath-taking ng dating alkalde.
