James kinampihan ang ‘Pinas

MALINAW para kay Philippine Basketball Association ( PBA) rookie aspirant James Laput ang kanyang kinampihan sa naganap na International Basketball Association (FIBA) basketbrawl ng Gilas Pilipinas at Australian Boomers noong Hulyo 2018 sa Philippine Arena sa Bulacan.
Isang Pilipino-Australian na ipinangak at lumaki sa Perth ng Down Under mula sa mga magulang na mga tubong Bulacan at Caloocan, nausisa ng isang online news nitong isang araw kung saan sa papanig papanig ang basketbolista sa rambol noon ng mga Pinoy at Australiyano.
“Philippines — because at the time, we’re playing basketball in the Philippines… that is just the Filipino way, that is the Filipino physicality of things,” bulalas ni Laput na 24 na taong gulang at may taas na 6-8.
Hinirit pa ng beterano ng PBA Developmental League o D-League (PBADL) sa paglalaro sa Marinerong Pilipino Skippers at University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) sa De La Salle University Green Archers: “To be honest, I remembered watching that, the striking blows are really the Australians, I saw that.”
Nauwi ang riot ng dalawang national men’s basketball squad sa suepensiyon ng 13 manlalaro na ang 10 ay sa host team, pinakamabigat ang anim na laro para kay Calvin Abueva. Namultahan pa ng milyones ang magkabilang panig.
“I was for the Philippines at that time, and now because that is just the Filipino ‘puso’,” wakas na wika ni Laput.
Nakatakda naman ang 36th PBA Draft 2021 sa darating na Marso 14. (REC)
